View Full Version : Graduate class of 2004
Come on, class of 2004. We should all be going to proms and commencements this time of year already. Who's gone and who's going soon?
My dinner/dance is tomorrow night. I'm celebrating a bit right now with some Whiskey and I'm trying my best to type. So far, so good. The last thing I want to be is another drunk online yelling "HAY GUYS IM DRUNK *HIC"
But yeah. Grad time. Who do we have this year? Joeiss.. Perfect Stu.. Crono.. Darkmaster. I know you guys are graduating too, aren't you? You better be. :p

I may not be graduating this year (I would be >_< ) unless GED's count.... in which case I still might not be...
BUT HEY I went to my friend's prom the other week... And I'm in their yearbook (as a joke)... It's not a public school... 'Tis a secondary "program" thing (ranked like 6th or 9th best school in the nation recently)... And the prom is... just as non-traditional...
Ummm represent?
WHICH ONE AM I!? Yarrr

Anyone besides me graduating in 2005?
Im hoping too.....as long as i dont keep being stupid...which isnt too likely
So, I might as well do this, as it's a pretty big part of my life I just went through.

First the briefing.. from left to right: Jen, Chris, Kristie, Kyle, Me (Phil), Adam, Amy, Christine, Sammi, Lisa, Jeanie, and Jason. Now that you're all acquianted..
Yesterday, I woke up around 10 am. The previous night my dad got me a nice blue $1500 suit and a $150 shirt. I had a shower, picked out a tie, talked to Jen for a bit on the phone, and then I went to the party at Kristie's house.
Very nice house. I learned Kristie was part Norwegian too. We mostly took pictures at the party. That picture up there was the first pic we took because people had to take off right away. Then we did other pics, I got pulled into doing this one by Kristie:

Thumbs up. A picture with two hot babes.
So we had the party, we converesed, I met a lot of people's parents. After the party, we decided to go to Stanley Park to take some random pictures. Here's a really good one I think:

We took a lot of other pictures but I liked that one best because it has Canada Place in the background, which is a bit of a landmark for Vancouver. :)
So I proceeded to the actual ballroom hall for the grad dance in my hot car and my hot date:

Actually, I'm lying. That's not my car. It was just sitting there. But that was my date for the night. :) So we went into Canada Place, and we decided to take some pictures.

I have a shot looking down over the line but I won't resize it. Anyways, moving on, I got in line, said hi to a bunch of people, and eventually we were let in. I said Hi to a LOT of people inside, and I saw Alan Tseng (who's a good friend and FAQ-writer, introduced me to DDR, and is a great guy). We took a picture.
http://members.shaw.ca/commencer3/grad2004/Grad-2004-004.jpg
So we sat at our tables and visited other tables; I saw a huge amount of people, took a lot of photos. Then it was time for dinner, which was a buffet. I have the actual list here, but it was really just standard buffet fare.. Ham, Roast Beef, Potatoes, Salad, Slices of meat.. the rounds. Also, desert, which was specialty cakes and everything. For drinks, we had two bars that were at opposite sides of the rooms; they lined up glasses of cokes, sprites, and ginger ales and people could take as many as they pleased. After dinner, there was a slideshow with a bunch of pictures. I saw myself a few times.
Afterwords, it was time to dance. Before I went up, I warmed up Kristie a bit because her hands were so cold. Eventually, after hugging and rubbing, we found the most effective method was for her to put her hands in my jacket pockets. So we stood there looking casual with her hands in my pockets for quite a while. Haha. But I went up eventually, and I danced quite a bit. Me and Alan Tseng didn't know where to start, so we just did DDR steps. But I used my knees and hips and everything and it was good. Then before I knew it there was a slow song, and a girl I know named Rachael (from English class) snatched me. :) So we slow danced, then it was fast dancing again. Next, I danced with Sammi finally, and I she pressed right up to me. :) It was a bit awkward though because she's so short, so I was hunching over a bit, but man, she's hot. *thumbs up* Then I went off and danced with Alan Tseng and Ed Wang for a few hours while there was no slow song, with breaks inbetween, and so on and so on. Then I got a bit bored, so I cracked out my Game Boy Advance SP because Amy was nowhere near. Then I got the brilliant idea of having my friend catch me in the middle of the dance floor while playing. Here's the result:
http://members.shaw.ca/commencer3/grad2004/Grad-2004-008.jpg
Got some laughs out of that one. :) One of the better ideas I've had. I'm thinking about making a sig/av out of it. It'd work. GBA SP: LIFESTYLE. So after that I went out with Sammi and we talked for a long time. It was good to get out of there because it was just plain loud. Then we slow-danced again, and she asked if I was going to aftergrad, and I replied with no doubt Yes.
So after the night was over I called my dad and he picked me up to drive me home. But this isn't where the night ended. It was then Aftergrad party time~! I went home and changed into the first thing I could find. Well, Disney tour t-shirt, and jeans. My dad lent me a belt that actually fit me, too, so it worked out. My waist is shrinking so much, I can't even keep up. Anyways, I got there, I saw a lot of people, we fished drinks out of coolers, we played Casino games with play money, Sammi and I both did Karaoke (I have a CD recording of myself.. I did Tom Jones, What's New *****cat, maybe I'll upload it if someone asks. :p) They also had a Mechanical Bull, some big inflatable thing, and stencil tatoos. I got a huge tatoo on my arm of a Tiger. But this whole thing took place at school, and it was themed "Underwater Mexican." We walked in, and the entire commons was in a blue shrink wrap dome. There was also an entry into the Gym, and it was Mexican in there.
So the night went on; we were all tired and dragging. But I got a picture of Jeanie and me on the dock in the gym:
http://members.shaw.ca/commencer3/grad2004/Grad-2004-007.jpg
I love Jeanie. I also saw Carrie there and I was going to get a picture with her. She wasn't at grad because she didn't feel like going, but she was at Aftergrad. But, I was too slow, and before I knew it, it was time for the Hypnotist show in the theatre. Savard the Hypnotist. He was good I guess. He got a bunch of volunteers on stage and he did funny things to them. But afterwards, we all got tickets for the money draw, and son of a gun, Sammi's number was drawn! She won $500. :D
So it was light out after that, raining lightly.. I didn't feel like bringing home my prize. It was buried somewhere in the office, where everybody else's was. But it was a nice peaceful walk home. I saw a Blue Heron. :) It was raining lightly and it was nice to reflect on all the events of the night.
Ok, that's my log for grad. :) I wonder if I can do something 5 times this big.. namely, Disneyland. Well, most people went off camping this weekend, and nobody's around. *sniff*

I think I was the only one who brought a camera to the dance floor.
I guess embarassing pics will eventually surface.. eh? :p That guy really liked Ed's dancing too. Haha.
I do have way more pics, Sean, but I don't feel like resizing them all. 8 can do for now; I've still got Disneyland to go.

Dyne aren't you two days younger than me? How are you graduating a year before me? Does it have to do with the fact that you're in Canada? I'm in the Class of 2005.
I guess our areas have different Kindegarten cut off dates..?
Is there anyone else in your grade born in 86?

Half the people in my grade were born in 86, the other half in 87. Once you get around August of 86, that's where the people in the Class of 2005 come in.
Weird. Oh well, at least I don't feel like the youngest graduate anymore.
Ya, I'm an 86'er.
Grad 2005 for me:(

Yeah, that's amazing to me, since I was born in '85 and graduated in 2003, but that's how it all works out...
Class of 2003 rocked ya'll.
We sure did :D.
BTW, I'm also an 86er (july), and I graduated in '03. How did that happen? I didn't start early or anything, and no skipping as well. Weird...
I guess our system is different...
