I overheard today in my Math class from one kid, who is like, going to be Canadas Prime Minister in 10 years, that Kinder Eggs are illegal in the U.S.. This (if true) is a travesty to me...well, not me but for the poor deprived chocolate/toyeless combination children. I just wanted to know if they are illegal...or if this statement was a biiiiiiiiig pile of Bovine excrament.

Well, I don't know what the hell you're talking about, and I'm from the US, so maybe we don't have them.
Edit: Well, I just went to some Kinder Egg website and read this statement. "I Do Not Ship Worldwide - USA Customers Only Please! If you want just toys I will ship worldwide but the prices apply to US destinations only.
So, I bet we have them, and they are not illegal, but I've never seen any around where I live.
Edit 2: Just found this....
Q:Why are Kinder Surprise eggs not available in the US?
In an informal conversation in August 1996 between one Kinder collector and a Marketing Manager at Ferrero Canada Limited, the collector was told that the US had two laws that prevented the sale of Kinder Surprise in the States.
The first was to do with the 'small parts regulations' that require the phrase "Not suited for children under three years of age" to appear on the product. The second states that an edible item cannot completely enclose a non-edible object. The Marketing Manager stated that, while the first law could be easily complied with, the fact that the chocolate egg completely surrounds the capsule inside prevented Kinder Surprise from being sold in the States.
He went on to say that Ferrero Canada Limited had been trying to persuade Ferrero to produce an "American" version with two half shells and the capsule.
It is hard to verify this, but Brazilian collectors will tell you that the Kinder Eggs marketed there are sold in two halves, with one half of the egg being a creamy chocolate confection, while the other half contains the toy, so it is possible that there may be other reasons for the non-apearance of Kinder on the American market.

You don't quite understand the historical motives behind my avatar switch. Big, bad Bob Saget was in my avatar many moons ago, and he has made a triumphant return. Will Carl come back for another day in the limelight? Only God knows, but watch Family Matters every day, as this increases the chances if his comeback because he will feel more loved.

I've never heard of a Kinder egg. When I don't understand someone or something, it's my natural instinct to insult it and react in a hostile manner:
Kinder Eggs sound lame and stupid.
I've seen those before....their those things with the toy inside, those are awesome, but it seems like the toys got increasingly lamer over the years. I used to get toy planes and stuff....now its just puzzles and smurfs. I remember i got a metal figure thing in one.

I love Kinder Eggs!!!!!!! They were my favorite treat when I lived in Germany. I just assumed that we didn't have them in America because they wouldn't do very well. I wish we did though. I 've got tons of toys, but I could always use more.

I don't really like them. Some of the toys are ok but most suck.
There's also only about 3 mm of chocolate encompassing the toy. need. more. chocolate.

The toys used to be a lot better. When I was younger (yeah, i sound like one of those old geesers talking about the "good ol days") they toys were awesome!

Yeah, i remember when there were metal mini statue things in them.....now you just get puzzles, and cheap plastic toys. They are depriving little chocoholic children of fun toys. And im pretty sure they reduced the thickness a little bit.
( And my mistake, They are called Kinder Surprise....but everyone just calls them Kinder Eggs)
