So the two peoples I hang out with the most were going to see a David Bowie concert tonight, so I figured eh it's a sunday, whatever I'll just lounge around the house...
Then at 7:25, one of my other friends calls and is like "Hey uhhhh wanna go to Bowie?"... His crazy rich neighbor had bought 3 tickets, but then decided at the last minute to give them away...
The doors open at 7:30, and the place is like 40 minutes away...
But we got there in time to see Bowie's whole set...
Ticket price after service fee: $66.70
Cost to me: ZERO!
So, does anybody else here have any fun stories about being given something?... Other than for a birthday, christmas, etc :sneaky:

Last summer I did some yard work for an old lady in the neighborhood and it resulted in me receiving a give-away turkey sandwich and a glass of orange juice with pulp in it.
Congratulations on your good fortune. Don't forget to save the ticket stub, legend has it that saving them brings good luck and prosperity.

I don't know. For the few games I went to, it was fun watching Big Country hauling ass up and down the court.

It was one of their terrible years. But they did end up winning the game.

Haha, you were lucky to get out alive.

Woah! I'm listening to Ziggy Stardust right now, haha.
And my rich friends always toss around tickets to my family last minute. Like an hour before Leaf/Raptor games... its great. But sometimes I allready have plans...

Yeah, damn rich people...
The same neighbors also gave him two tickets to a White Stripes concert (although it was a few weeks in advance) because they couldn't make the new date...
I already had tickets for that show though...

I get to play at a really nice golf course that costs upwards of $120 per round for free...I play about 15 rounds a year there :beat:
(The course teaching pro is a close family friend...has known me since I was born...his 2 sons are, consequently, friends of mine...I golf with them)

Uh, technically that's not free.
I got a 19inch tv, computer, and car from my second cousin who moved to Australia.

I dont think GM was working for food, though. It was just a pleasent unexpected reward.

My dad works with a guy who knows a guy who works at Anhiusher Bush, and one day the guy just came up to him and asked if he wanted some free Cardinal tickets. My dad of course asked what game they were for, and he said you tell me. The guy said he could get us tickets for free to any game we wanted, and as many games as we wanted. My dad, not wanting to abuse the amazing offer, said hed take 3 tickets to 2 games aginst Houston Jully 5th and 6th. So thats when were're going to the game. Suppoused to be pretty good seats too, lower deck, somewhere between the foul pole and first base. Probably 25-30 dollar ticktes. And we're also getting free lodging at a super 8 in Colinsville. Pretty sweet deal, if I dont say so myself.

Whats wrong with rich people?
And i want to use my vast sports knowledge to announce that the Vancouver Grizzlies could have taken Vince Carter....but the y wanted a centre, so the took Reeves...
One time, at a Grizzles game, me and two of my friends were sitting 2 rows behind the hoops, and Reeves was lining up for a free-throw. My friend turned to me and whispered a plan. Right when he was about to shoot we all yelled " BRYANT REEVES IS HOT!!!!" for no apparent reason at all. But after the game, he came and talked to us, and said it was funny what we did, so we got free tickets to the next game.
( I could have paid the $5 with my own money for the next game though :p )

And it's still not free, cause he wouldn't have gotten the reward had he not worked for it.

Just recent? He's always freaked the hell out of me. And I mean that in the nicest way. :)
