Who here gets nosebleeds?
I never had a nosebleed in my entire life...until last night. And it seemed to make up for my previous lack of nosebleeds.
I was playing poker with my buddies, and as I was dealing the cards, I felt something warm run down over my mouth. I touched it with my hand to see what it was, and it was a LOT of blood. It kept coming, too...like water from a faucet. I clogged it with pieces of Kleenex until they were saturated...I used about 5 pieces. It stopped, and I went to wash up. Both of my hands were soaked in blood, my shirt had bloodstains, and I had a handful of crimson Kleenex.
Now I dont get grossed out by blood...but this was kinda nasty.
Anyone have any idea what could have caused such an...outpour?

I used to get tons of them during 6th and 7th grade, mostly at night. Pretty bad ones, too. I would just wake up in the middle of the night and find my pillow covered in blood. I eventually, I always made sure I had a spare pillow in my room.
I don't get them anymore, however. I always figured it was a "growing boy" thing or something...

A whole lot of blood. My worst ones had pillow nearly soaked through and blood all over my shirt. Most of them weren't that bad. Usually I would just stick some toilet paper up my nose and go back to sleep, but sometimes they were...eh...

Sometimes you can get a nosebleed if you're finger is in your nose more than once a day.
I've only had a couple of nosebleeds, I didn't like it.
Oh yeah. I used to have terrible ones too. It became a medical hazard I began writing on forms for sports and school and everything.
It either comes from the dryness of the air or playing sports a lot. My dad had the same condition. He had it so bad the doctor ended up cauterizing his nose 5 times. (Yes, sticking a piping hot fork up your nose, subjecting you to the horrible smell of your own burning flesh. 5 times.)
Oh yeah, stop picking your nose too. Don't put your finger up there. :p
I had some pretty bad nosebleeds myself. I absolutely hate them because when they get in your mouth it tastes awful and it forms those weird jelly blood things. Sometimes when I had a stealth nose bleed I used to gross my brother out by sucking a blood jelly into my mouth and rubbing all over my teeth with my tongue. "Hey, Alan! *opens mouth*"
Needless to say, he was grossed out.

I had one that lasted 15 minutes once. That sucked.

I get them once in awhile, especailly when I have a cold. At certain times it seems like every time a blow my nose it starts to bleed. But they usualy dont last very long, Im a master at getting them stopped.

I had what Ginkasa had, just nosebleeds out of nowhere.

It was actually Atilla the Hun, wasn't it?
Anyway, I've had a couple nose bleeds. None of them were nearly as big as what ginkasa and dyne and Perfect Stu were talking about though.

Because i split my nose in half when i was 3, my nose bleeds out of nowhere, and doesnt like to stop. ( to put it into perspective, its like that guy on a game forum, who posts at everything, he just wont stop) But now that i think of it i havent got one for a few months, which is good, because usually in the mornings, at least once a month, i wake up with dried blood all over my face...
....maybe i dont have nosebleeds, maybe someone is punching me in the face while i sleep?. ;)

Humidity wouldn't cause nosebleeds, dry air would.

Genghis Khan died of natural causes... but I doubt it was a nosebleed, maybe I'm wrong though. I know he was never killed in combat.
And, I've had my fair share of bad nosebleeds. It actually used to be daily for me during the hot summers and alergie seasons, but I'm fine now.

My mistake.
And come to think about it, when I used to work at the Gap (last summer), I would always get nosebleeds after I would leave. Spending 8 hours in a place with dry air really damages me, lol.

I started getting nosebleeds last winter... It usually woke me up around 7-9AM...
But then during the summer they went away... Then winter rolled around and they came back, so we got a humidifier for my room and it seemed to work because I didn't have any the rest of the winter...
Humidifiers are my friends...

I've had a few nosebleeds... They've ranged from drippy to gushy. Usually happens when It's really dry out.
My littlest brother gets them pretty frequently during dry weather. He takes a Q-Tip with a little Vasoline on it and usually moisturizes his innards when it gets like that.

I used to get nose bleeds pretty often... some were really bad.. a couple i remember as it just pouring out of my nose, i one time ended up swallowing too much of it and puked up blood, rather disgusting expeirince. One time i got hit in the face wiht a boot and my nose was bleeding like at least once a day for like 2 weeks. I still get em like once a month or so at night. I've never woken up with more than a drop of blood on my pillow tho. It may sound strange but i think ive got some sort of 6th sense about nose bleeds, at least 100 times prolly throughout my life ive suddenly woken up just before a nose bleed.. quickly run to the bathroom roll up some toilet paper, stick it in my nose until its soaked, then switch to a next one.. usually gotta go through about 3 thingies stuck up my nose.
Yes i am nosebleed master :) I also get em when its really hot sometimes.

If it makes you feel any better when your nose bleeds, it's not as much blood as you think, it's a lot of mucus and stuff. So that's why it can gush like water, where as a normal cut just oozes blood.
