Yea, 2 screens has been done before, both in the arcade and for handhelds. But this is the first time developers have actually had a machine to develop for with 2 screens.

Yep, true. This time we will get to see some interesting stuff. People are already thinking that no one will find uses for both screens besides maps, but you dont know what the dev's have on their mind.

Oh definitely. Right now they might only be showings, but then there will be a game that comes out with such a basic different use, but it will make all the difference. And then we will think to ourselves, "why didn't we think about that?" lol.
Have you ever heard the saying, "Good ideas are imagined, and great ideas are stolen"?
That is literally the first thing that popped into my mind when it was announced, and I'm sure it was the same for others. But it was the Zelda model I was thinking about.
But yeah, this is great. Even if the DS only had one screen and stylus and microphone support, it would still be third pillar material.

Everything is an evolved form of something else. No surprise there.
Do you have something else we can discuss regarding the DS that isn't so apparent?

No, he's just a Sony fanboy that thinks he's clever by throwing something in our face that we already understand (and sadly, he doesn't).
As Jason1 has already stated, arcades and systems like Game & Watch are developed with one sole game in mind.
This gives developers the opportunity to exploit that in every game they make. I can hardly wait until (because it will happen) a Mario Paint-like suite is released for the DS. Imagine a class full of kids. Maybe five of them have a DS. But among those five you can make fun of your teachers by drawing pictues of them, pass notes, etc. and your teacher is (hopefully) completely oblivious to it (wireless).

That's Game & Watch... A NINTENDO product.
So how are they stealing ideas? It's an evolution of their previous product.
Where am I bashing...

Then by your own definition you'd be a fanboy, right?
Look, I'm not going out of my way to brag about any product or tarnish the public opinion of any either. However, I do apologize; the fact that tarakan has generally had a fairly biased viewpoint lately made me simply looked at this thread with the same scorn. I was also a tad bit bothered by the whole "discuss" thing.
At any rate, yeah it's an evolution or a reapplicaton. And I'm really glad they're doing it the way they are.

All these forums talking about the DS and the PSP and whats wrong with them and this and that are just people trying to start up controversy IMO. They want to bash the other product and why not? They dont like it, but so? Ideas are stolen they always have been, without the stealing of ideas their wouldnt be many great things in this world..

Indeed. I was more over referring to the "it became a great thing" comment. In my opinion, and many others, Mac OS X rules over XP any and everyday. If I want to play games, I'll use my PC simply because that's where they're at. But everything else I will always do on a Mac.

thats the only advantage bill has over steve and thats software compatibility... but sooner or later Apple will catch up with the market and have everything the PC's have....bleh...
until then... I'm buying a PC for my gaming and my Mac stays for my graphic design career...
