So here's the story:
Super Mario Sunshine co-director Takeshi Koizumi will be on hand to help promote a new title at E3, Nintendo recently confirmed. Koizumi, who directed the latest Mario adventure for the GameCube alongside Kenta Usui, will be speaking to the press with Sunshine assistant director Takao Shimizu about an as-yet-unannounced new title.
Nintendo has shown some of its E3 games to the press, but it's also keeping a few unveilings close to the vest in advance of E3. Check back for a full report from Nintendo's press conference when the deal goes down on May 11.

wow, E3 is starting up tomorrow. Freaky that its already here. But this Mario game could make or break alot of Nintendo fans. If they keep it too sunshine'ish, alot of people are gonna groan and walk off. They can keep some elements from it, but lets try and get back to a more Mario 64'ish adventure but incorporating new stuff and whatnot.

SMS was a rehash of SM64. What will we do this time? Collect moons? Apparently that'll be different from collecting stars and sunshines.
Seriously, this new Mario game needs a whole new game engine and game play style... otherwise it gets no more than a rent from me. I am sick of the "Go through levels, collect a star/shine, proceed" thing.

New Mario? For the love of God... even Land Before Time has more appropriately timed sequels at this point!
P.S. And yes, there are too many Final Fantasy games, even though they do generally kick ass... they don't all have the same fatass Italian on the cover.

Well, ok I see where the assumption comes from, but how exactly did you get that it was a Mario game?
They said the man who directed Sunshine will have a new game, no one said it was a new Mario game or if it is even Mario related.

Like a 1st-person shooter?

What he said...I know there are rumors around with the ever so vague "Mario 128" title said to be shown, but in the article above it never really says anything about this being a Mario title...

Yeah! New Mario. I do not own a GCN or anything, but come on guys, this is Mario. Any news about a new game is good news, lol.
Hopefully they will also release a new sidescroller for GBA.

If this is truly a new mario game, im very excited. I wasnt expecting to see anything on a new Mario game at E3. Even if it isnt mario, it's straight from Nintendo, it will be damn cool regardless.

At last year's E3 Shiggy said that Mario 128 would not be shown then because it had some new gameplay mechanics that he wasn't ready to share, but they WILL be showing it at E3 2004.
So if it's not shown, Shiggy is a filthy liar worthy of a slap.
