Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition and the recently released GeForce 6800 Ultra are now pretty much neck and neck.

ATI's card has a bit of a lead but nVidia is going to be releasing what is basically an overclocked version of the 6800 ultra soon.

The performance between the cards is so close that it lends itself trivial.

anandtech's benchmarks (http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=2044)

It shows just how much the peformance has increased over the 9700. Incredible. I'm still running a ti 4600 and the performance gap between that and the 9700 is quite a bit already. Makes me want to buy a new card....

So, anyone going to be buying one of these beasts?

THe X800XT wont be out until I think the end of May. X800Pro ive heard could be on store shelves by either this friday or next friday.

But anywho. I really want the X800XT but I cant just take $500 out of savings and slap it on this card without my family hounding me for doing it. So I'm going to try to wait for the PCI-Express version of the X800XT.

still waiting to see which one settles in at the best.

the Nvidia 6800 u was beating it in a couple tests while the x800 was winning some of the others.

prolly get a radeon eventually tho. However i have a 9600XT right now. My next card will be a PCX. which will slaughter AGP cards.

so im waiting to build a new computer till i get one.
