See NHL Playoff topic two threads down. Flyers will win anyway, so your chants are meaningless. Meaningless I say!

Why make a new thread? If Leafs lose, it is all your fault.

If anything's rigged, it's some of the rediculous calls that have been made in Toronto's favor, or should I say non-calls, during the series.
Go Flyers. Tie Domi is a Nancy Boy.

You know what my dad says about Tie Domi? He said that he is a tough guy, but when someone picks a fight with him, he's a chicken and backs off.

There was one time when a fan was yelling at him and he practically pulled the idiot over the glass. He's tough, but doesn't always back down.

I know, that was a Flyers fan, and I believe it was last year. They showed that during yesterday's game.

Tie Domi is a little biatch. He dives up and down the ice and then starts yapping at the opposing bench when his team is losing by five goals. Have some respect for the game and your team you ass clown.

Domi isn't a fighter any more, boys. That is Belak's role. Domi will drop the mits once in a while, but his game is much better than it ever has been, so he is riding on that.
And him and that drunken idiot Flyers fan are friends now. Actually, kind of a funny little story, haha.

Amonte, Roenick, Zhamnov: all former hawks, all on the same line in Philly, (AKA the Blackhawk Down line) Philly is east of Chicago.

Yes, and thank you very much for them! Flyers would be nothing without that line.

Funny how Chicago never managed to do anything with them, though.
Chicago was decent when they had them. i remember the conference finals between hawks and wings in 95? i think
i hope chicago gets going again, my 2nd fav team along with the leafs.

Well, at least Tucker punked Kapenen. Easily one of the hardest hits I've ever seen. Do you think Sami realizes that they've won yet? :p

Was Belfour on Blackhawks in 95? Or was he allready in Dallas?
Was Belfour on Blackhawks in 95? Or was he allready in Dallas?
yea, he was on Hawks
Hawks had Amonte (i think) , Roenick, Chelios, Belfour. not sure bout the others, but they were quite decent.

The Blackhawks made the playoffs for 16 or 17 straight seasons. They were in the Stanley Cup Finals in 1992 (swept by Pittsburgh) and they made the western conference finals in 95 and lost to the wings 4 games to 1, all 4 of Detroit's wins were by one goal. That 95 team had Cheilos, Amonte, Belfour, Bernie Nichols (who still had some left in the tank at the time) Joe Murphy (same) Keith Carney, and Bob Probert. Jeremy Roenick was on the team but he missed most of 95 after Darien Hatchetman Hatcher destroyed his knee in a game (I think that was the knee year, but it may have been the jaw year, I don't remember.)
ESPN recently named the Blackhawks the worst franchise in sports and I couldn't agree more. They simply refuse to spend money, and they now average just over 10,000 people a night. This from a franchise that used to sell out every single home game.
The ownership here is so spiteful; the home games aren't even televised.
As if all that wasn't enough to make hawk fans puke, right when that team was coming together in 1992, their coach was Mike Keenan. He was fired because he wanted control of personal. What did he want to do?
He was going to trade Ed Balfour for Joe Sakic, and put his faith in his backup goaltender.......
Dominic Hasek.

Is all of that true?

All of that is true....and i couldnt stand not having games Televised...all but i think 7 or 8 games of the Canucks wernt Televised. But out of the 70 or so games on T.V. there were about 10 on Pay Per View for like $10. I think thats better than having 20 games un-televised.
Do the other hockey cities do the Pay Per View game thing too...or just us?

Every saturday night game for the Leafs is on CBC, no matter what. And during playoffs they air every game. Weekday games for the Leafs are usually aired on TSN or SportsNet.

Pretty much every Flyers is game is on Comcast Sportsnet (basic cable) here. There aren't many (if any) games that aren't either broadcast on CSN or ABC, or occasionally UPN 57 I believe.

Pay to watch games? THat must suck... I get all the Leaf games I think....
But there is LeafsTV... and I assume that once the contracts with CBC and others runs out, you'll have to pay to get LeafsTV o watch games...
Wings games used to be on PPV once in a while, many many years ago. but no not anymore.
Normally they play most the season games on UPN, (nomal TV, not even a cable channel)
this season i think every game was on TSN sports channel. basic cable.
Yanno. i got to thinkin. i had TOTALLY forgot that the TB lighting are detroit owned. lol. The guy who owns the Detroit Pistons owns the TB Lightning.
he possibly may have 2 championship teams on his hands. and to think, he only bought the TB lightning so he could use thier stadium. never planed on them actually winning and making money. lol

That Tampa thing must be a huuuuge bonus for that guy...the pistons won the title? wow....i didnt even know Basketball playoffs started yet...Vancouver doesnt really get much big coverage of the NBA since the Grizzlies left, and i dont know why they did...they sold out the majority of the games once it was announced the team was sold..
...And to get this straight so im not misunderstood or anything, only a handfull of games are on PPV, and its only $10. So if you get 10 bussies over to watch the game...its only a buck each....or 1000 guys and you only gotta fork over a penny...
The Germanator
05-06-2004, 12:17 AM
No, Pistons didn't win the title and I doubt they will. NBA hoops are only in the second round. The Spurs or Kings will beat any team out of the East IMO.
actually pistons have quite a good shot at it.
what i was saying is he COULD have 2 championship teams on his hands. they both have a decen chance.
Joeiss
05-06-2004, 09:42 AM
Pistons will definitely not win this year.
wouldnt say def not, they have more of a chance then you think.
however basketball sadly is not like hockey. its almost predictable that the better team wins is basketball. i like the fact in hockey anyone can win.

This is a little off topic...but i just heard this morning that Don Cherry is the highest paid Canadian Government employee....thats wrong somehow...he said somebody tried to get him to run for parlaiment, he said he would, but he didnt want to take a pay cut...this is a true story i tell you my amigo's.

Nothing is like basketball. It's been the same teams since the 1980s and nobody wins only one championship. Since the 76ers in 83 it's only been Boston, LA, Houston, Detroit, Chicago and San Antonio. Six different champions since 1984.
Compare that with 13 in baseball (http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/history/postseason/mlb_ws.jsp?feature=recaps_index)
10 in hockey (http://nhl.com/hockeyu/history/cup/champs.html)
11 in football. (http://www.superbowl.com/history/recaps)
The best team nearly always wins in basketball and always wins multiple titles.

I am as sure as I can be.Only just? That is interesting:
said he was the highest paid person on CBC.
You'll have to ask him yourself. Would you like to make an appointment? Can we get back to business?
Normally I would search the web right now, but that seems like a silly question.

um......no........Cherry's lackey...( i forget his name, i think its Ron Maclean) makes about 2-3 million....cherry gets more than that..
You almost forgot his name!

And I don't think Cherry would make a good politicion....although it would probably provide a few good laughs.
