MONTREAL -- A 28-year-old man is in serious condition after being hit by a metro train, at Montreal's Berri-UQAM station.
The incident took place at 6:30 a.m. Sunday.
The man was standing too close to the edge of the platform when the train pulled into the station, and then he collapsed on the platform. He suffered serious head injuries when he was hit by the train.
Police said they think the incident was not a suicide attempt. Investigators interviewed three witnesses and reviewed video footage from surveillance cameras.
Police added that this type of accident is easy to avoid, as long as passsengers stay behind the marked safety lines on metro platforms.
