Well, this is the somewhat unofficial comic book movie adaption thread, you could say.
The reference in the title is ofcourse to the new Batman, spider-man and catwoman movie coming out within the next year and a half or so, but you are also able to talk about other movies like Hellboy and Punisher and Fantastic Four and so forth.
Anyhow, I don't particularly care for the Catwoman outfit other than to see Halle walk around in it, and I don't need to see the movie to see that.
Spider-Man 2 is a movie, I'm really anticipating. The final trailer should be online Friday, if Sony sticks to their guns.
There is a teaser trailer for the trailer (not to be confused with the teaser trailer) on the official site http://spiderman.sonypictures.com/
It's basically the international trailer showing now.
Also some hi-res pics of Spidey http://www.moviehole.net/news/3479.html
the movie looks like the movie to beat for the summer, and it's been moved up to June 30th, from July 2nd for anyone who is interested.
And of course, the cream of the crop. A new edition of the Batman mythos on the silver screen. Of course, much like the 1989's version seperated itself from the 60s TV show, this movie looks to seperate itself from the 4 movies released in the late 80s/early 90s.
It has one hell of a cast including Chrisitian Bale as Batman.

And here is the "Batmobile" for the movie.

Spiderman looks great, and Batman could be good too...Catwoman on the other hand...

Spider-Man's going to rock, of course. Catwoman looks to be sucking.
Batman is looking pretty good, but its still too early to be sure. There hasn't been any reason to doubt it, but...

I'm really excited about Spiderman 2, but the others I don't really care about.
In other news, a sequel to The Mask is being made. But don't get your hopes up for even a second. Jim Carrey is not in the film and he's the only thing that made The Mask cool. This will be a very lame, disappointing movie. It's titled, Son of the Mask.

I agree the Mask sequel is going to suck. Have you seen the trailer? A baby flying around like the mask. *shudders*
I hate movies (live-action anyway) that put babies as more intelligent or capable than they actually are.

Yeah me too, it makes me want to beat the **** out of the little baby that acts like a jerk and messes with grown-ups. Same for little kids. I hate when they make little kids disrespectful or more powerful than grown-ups.

I see. I'm glad we agree, .
In what way?Yes, it is much the same.I honestly think you should sit down, take a stress pill,
and calmly think things over.

Okay..that...THING in the link can't be the batmobile..it's more like a cross between a low-riding monster truck/pickup truck and a rocket car

Hm yeah it looks kinda cheezy, perhaps they're bringing it as some kind of upgrade to it?
Ginkasa

Its no more cheesy than any of the other Batmobiles... That one's probably a little more realistic, at least as to how a real Batmobile would be designed.

Good lord that Spiderman 2 trailer gave away alot of the move.
****Possible Spoiler****
What's his name (sorry, dont follow the movie/story as well:() says "Get Peter Parker" then at the end of the trailer he says "Lets see who's behind that mask"...gah, it defeated the purpose of showing that at the end
****End Spoiler****
The Harry Potter trailer looks good. Looks like it's gonna be a yearly release since teenagers grow up quickly:p

I think his name is Henry Osbourne. But man, the movie looks SO good. I can't wait. And they bumped earlier to June 30th for the 4th of July weekend. Oh, here's Apple's site with a bigger high quality version of the trailer.

I like Spider-Man. :D
In fact, Spidey is so excited himself, that he has decided to perform a special dance for you all. He's practiced real hard, and here it is! http://www.thebollocks.com/images2/gay-spiderman.gif
Edit: Holy ****....I just made that Spidey gif my desktop picture in the "tile" form, and it is the MOST glorious thing EVER. I have hundreds of gay spideys performing a seductive dance for me. It's beautiful, *wipes tear* I added an attachment so you get the idea.

I think the movie will be uber-hyped and will be #1 in the first weekend, but then word of mouth spreads the movie is a p.o.s. and sales bomb the following week(s).
I still irk at the Catwoman movie because Halle Berry just doesnt fit the role of Catwoman. NOT a racist comment but i've always pictured Catwoman as a white female.
GameMaster
05-23-2004, 03:22 PM
Yeah, because in the original Batman movies, she is a white female with blonde hair.

With all my problems with Catwoman, her race has never been an issue. I mean she went from white to black in the 1960's TV show when Eartha Kitt took over the part.
Anyhow, I till think the movie won't do so hot, may see it if I get a free voucher with my Batman: The Animated Series Vol 1 DVD, and I hear they may attach a teaser trailer for Batman Begins so let's see.
Anyhow, let's see some updates. Spiderman is less than 3 weeks away, and that shall be a thrilling ride. I can't wait to see.
But the real point of this update was to give more information on Batman Begins in particular, the Batmobile.
Well first off, here is a spec sheet.
http://www.batman-on-film.com/bbimages/tumblerspec1.jpg
This thing does everything from cooking to cleaning, to washing your buttocks properly.
And before I post more pics of the vehicle, I said mention that in the movie it is a tank built by Wayne Enterprises for the military, and Bruce takes it. So it's not an official "batmobile" persay.

*shrugs and walks away*
Well, he isn't supposed to kill, but they could make it a point to...
A) Have him kill then realize it's all wrong.
B) Rubber bullets like he had in "Dark Knight Returns"
C) He doesn't use it, just in there because it was built for the military
D) He uses it on vehicles to blow out tires, which wouldn't necassilry kill anyone.
And to be fair, almost all the other vehicles were laced with weapons. I mean in the first one it had bombs that had to kill everyone in the factory.

I know. And that was a big failing of the first movie. I'd rather this one not go that far.
But him killing and realizing it's wrong is fine; in fact, I would support that. It'd show him as more a human. And that did happen in the comics, right? He used a gun in first several comics (waaaaay back when) and then vowed never kill again, correct? That would be neat.
And the military thing is what popped into my head. It seemed kind of weird, though, tha a movie would add machine guns to a vehicle and then fail to use them.

In the movie, the suit is translucent at first: it's a futuristic military design complete with body armor and muscle-recovery devices.
The rest sounds neat, though. And the costume at least looks cool...

Remeber the good old days when the cape was made out of cloth? Or when sound effect were shown on the screen for the benefit of the deaf. And they would all dance in the end. God Batman in the 60's was awesome.

He does have on the belt, but this costume is going for the extremely dark look so his belt is real hard to notice.
just as an update.
The 67 Spiderman Collection is now out on DVD and features all 52 episodes from the show.
Batman: TAS Vol 1 is out and features the first 28 episodes from the shows (hence I didn't say first season as that featured 65 episodes)
Challenge of the Superfriends: The First Season is also out (and well it's also the only season of the show, but multiple seasons of the Superfriends show)
This week, Justice League: Starcrossed will come out on DVD.
Spiderman did well in box office, breaking the 250 million dollar mark faster than it's predecessor.
A Batman Begins trailer will be attached to some versions of I, Robot this week so check your theatres before you go.

Eh not one for all this military muscle rubber stuff. Ever see Batman: Dead End? It sticks with the grey under than black cowl. Good stuff. My hopes for this movie drop everytime I see something new. Bring back Tim Burton!
This movie seems like those eps of the Batman cartoon when Bruce Wayne tracks down in the desert Ra's Al Ghul and for all we know could be Indiana Jones instead of Batman.
And might as well mention all the other superhero movies:
Catwoman:
Won't touch this with a 10-foot pole. Not even worth downloading. May watch it when it turns up on network tv.
Hellboy:
I was expecting it to be a lot better than it was. Ron Perlman was great. But every other character I felt did a crap job compared to him.
Punisher:
I literally got dragged by my friends to see this movie in theaters. It was a hell of a lot better than I thought it would be. Thumbs up from me.
Spiderman:
Good movie. Though now half of NYC has seen his face. At least he's not a big shot like Bruce Wayne. Just some kid who they probably wouldn't recognize on the street.
Incredibles:
Not based on real superheros but the movie I wanna see the most. :D
