He eats anything in sight. White dots, cherries, ghosts, whatever is there.

The old-skool factor gives Pac Man an almost automatic win.

Pac-Man eats a lot.

What more do you have to say? He is a role-model for us all.

i know pac man has the old school factor going for him, but jesus, i'm sick n tired of hearing the new generation of today always talking about old school.

pac-man was invented before either of you guys can you say you were born.

i think ppl should stop frontin' and stop acting like "old school is the best" when they never were there to experience it. i've got a couple of old geezer friends and they say its nothing to be so cheery about.

jill gets my vote even though i know the outcome..

Right you are sir. I myself and getting very tired of the old beat and broken characters winning these things. I hope dylflon creates and entire bracket of "new school" characters next time. I myself voted for Jill, and I am proud of it.

This is the reason we should all vote for Rikku in the next battle. :D

How about the fact that I've played both a Resident Evil game and Pac-Man, and I happen to like Pac-Man better? Oh, but no, I'm not allowed to like Pac-Man better because it came out before I was born, right? I suppose I shouldn't listen to the Beatles or classic rock anymore. Or I suppose I shouldn't care about what it says in my history textbook because if I didn't directly experience it, what's the use? Plus, I played Pac-Man probably 5 years before Resident Evil was even rumored to exist, so I did experience the game first anyway. I hate this sterotypical, "vote for old school because it's cool". I vote for old school, because the games are better.

Oh! I got an idea!

Perhaps next time Dylflon could create an entire division of Old School characters, and the other division consist of "new school" characters, if you would.

In the end, things would boil down to the ultimate "new school" and the ultimate old school character.

But, back on subject, I played the original pac-man too. I own it for the Atari 2600. I remember when I was a little kid I spent countless hours playing that game. I loved it. So I'm not voting blindly here, just becuase I think pacman is "old". I'm just a little tired of this being so predictable.

Contestant 1: I've stared in many many many games. I've had so many secuals you cant count them all. The fact that almost all of my games are exactly the same doesnt matter, because people still love me.

Contestant 2: Ive stared in 1 or 2 games, or maybe a lot, but it doesnt matter because they are all "new". My awesome graphics and DVD rom format make me an automatic underdog in this competition.

Result: Contestant 1 wins.

I don't think it is as much as we like them because they're old, but a lot of these older characters we grew up with. These are the characters that got us into gaming. When I think about Dog from Duck Hunt I remember playing it at my friend's house after school when I was in kindergarten. Duck Hunt was the first game a lot of us cheated at.

And as for Pac-man, I've spent many an hour playing his game. I appreciate Pac-man because he is from an era where games didn't need a story. You had a clear objective and you tried to accomplish it to teh best of your ability. It was fun and it's something that we've lost now.

So if the old school contestant means more to me and I like him/her better, hell yes that character gets my vote.

Contestant 2 can have all the good graphics and dvd-rom features in the world and it won't take away all the good times I had with contestant 1.

I'm not persecuting anyone for liking old school. But tried and true old school gamers would get tired of seeing some of these ppl rant and rave about how great it is.

You can like old school if you want, but don't you think it gets superficial when all people say is..

"Pac-man, cuz old school owns!"

I dunno... its my opinion. Somethings do rock old school... such as The Undertaker.... hehehe
