The Next Survivor

So... I was thinking it would be fun to do another Survivor since the last one was such a hit. But instead of doing Survivor I thought we could try another reality TV show. Something like The Apprentice.

Any comments or thoughts?

Yeah, Apprentice might be cool, not sure exactly how we could do it, I suppose "The Boss" could assign various online chores and then people would have to do it by a certain date, and they work on teams right? So, team members could vote for the person they found least productive or helpful to accomplishing the task. And then once the team has sent in their verdicts The Boss could make his call as to who's fired.

I think we should pick a really well known one...I dont think near as many people know about the Apprentice and how it functions as they do Survivor.

The Apprentice would be a good thing to do. But instead of team members getting to vote, they just voice their opinion like the show does and let the "Boss" decide. But if we do something like that, we need a non-biased "Boss".

How about we just do an original contest witha reality TV feel, rather than sticking to only one show? It would give it a lot better variety, more originality, and more of a "This is ours!" feel.

You could mix and match elements from different reality TV shows, make up some of your own, and fit them together...

Well, here is the short of it.

Anybody ever played the game Assassins? I've never personally played, but I've heard about it from people who have and it sounds cool.

Anyway, they idea is to take the same game and adapt it for use on the message board. I haven't thought much further, but I'll work on it.

Holland = The Netherlands.

Denmark kinda looks like it, but it's in Scandanavia and it doesn't have wooden shoes, windmills, tulips, cheese, drugs or red light districts. :rolleyes:

The General Forum would be good. That's where most people post anyways. What do you guys think of the method for killing? It kind of gives away who is involved after their first kill.

I've toyed with the idea of assigning everyone a smilie. The person responds to their target's post, using their assigned smilie and then sends a PM to the controller informing them of their kill. Once the controller confirms, he/she sends a PM to the victim informing them that they have been eliminated. Sound good? Keeps everyone's involvement nice and secret.

Right. Your post still has to come immediately after your target, but instead of saying "so and so has be assasinated", just put in the smilie and that way your involvement won't be given away.

Well, that's the only problem I can think of with my plan. I guess we could just go with it and say it is just the luck of the draw. Besides, all it will do is get people suspicious. They won't be able to prove involvement.

I didn't think about invisible mode. Hmmm, we may have to outlaw its use.

I figured that we would go by Newman Council rules. If it's your idea, then you're in charge. In other words, I would take on the responsibility of running it.

Another change I would like to make is to the required posting rule. Instead of being eliminated if you don't post at least once in the required time frame, I figured we would just make a wanted list. Those who fail to post often enough are put on the wanted list and their involvement is made public. Then, anyone who is playing the game may kill them.
