Champagne was flowing yesterday as Nintendo scooped four prestigious BAFTAs
at this year¹s BAFTA Games Awards. 350 members of the industry came
together to celebrate a successful 2003 at the award ceremony, hosted by
popular comic Bill Bailey.
Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising on the Game Boy Advance won BAFTAs for
Best Strategy Game and Best Game Boy Advance Game. The Miyamoto classic The
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker received a BAFTA for Best Adventure Game and
the multi-award winning Metroid Prime received its BAFTA for Best GameCube
Game.
2003 was an exciting year for Nintendo having launched fantastic software
for both the Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance. Nintendo scooped a
grand total of 14 awards in 2003 and adding a further four BAFTAs to its
collection is testament to Nintendo¹s great, innovative games. Nintendo
also looks forward to repeating this success in 2004 with its excellent
software line up.
