Does your store follow the rules and not allow you to buy a M game is you are under 17, or anything like that?
Vote in the poll.

I don't know...
I don't think I've ever actually bought a Mature game myself...
:hmm:

I'm not sure. Depending who the clerk is, I might get it and I might not.

HAHA!! Rules...
I get all my DC games pirated from a shop.(That's becuase they shipped only 27 games to Greece).
Speaking of ratings nobody follows them, a 4th grade can go get a hardcore prono movie if he wants to.
People make a big deal out of porno/violence only when it forbidden, but when you are allowed to get drunk when you are 14 here in Greece it loses it's appeal.

Nope, I've been able to buy games from Perfect Dark to Resident Evil: Code Veronica to Grand Theft Auto 3 with no problems whatsoever.

Never bought an M game, plus I'm over 17, so I dunno. Probably not though since I go to no name places where they don't seem to care about stuff like that.

Not really... Well maybe if they're really young... but like 14 and up they don't care... there was like a kid who was maybe 12 who came in once and wanted fallout cuz he said that his brother ruined his other copy... and they were like "So how old are you? Ah you said you own the game already so nevermind"... heh heh

Amazing!
Before this topic, I thought that most gaming stores didn't follow the rules, now this topic has confirmed that.

We should a write a letter to all the managers of stores that retail video games and share with them this poll. I feel violated when someone sells me a game I'm not supposed to be playing.

Maybe we should share you with a baseball bat!
Seriously, what does it matter? If someone buys a game that is not right for them, well, that's why they have these people called PARENTS. But for some people (like me) my parents don't care about what kind of games I play, so there's no big deal.

I don't know if this is a rule but more and more stores are doing it..
In order to sell a game you either have to:
a)Be over 18 years old
b)Have parent's permission
c)Fill out this long form
d)Have ID
It's so damn annoying..to sell a damn game... it's a wonder I never sold one

None of that happens to me.

um...theaters on stricter on the r movies nowadays.
The Germanator

Yeah, I hate theaters who are strict about that. I mean, they make your parent actually go into the movie with you, it's ridiculous. They can't just let the parent sign the ticket or buy the ticket for you, they actually have to freaking go in with you, it's just annoying. Well, I'll be 17 in about 6 months, so that's not so bad.

It's sad your parents don't care :( It makes me think they have more important things to do than worry about what their son does. I certainly hope that isn't the case :(

Pffft.. movie theaters are more lenient than gaming stores, well, around here anyways. I've been able to get into so many R rated movies without getting asked for an ID.

I go to a pool hall where there's a sign that says you must be over 18 and that they will ask for ID to comfirm this. Yet they don't do anything of the sort. Ask for a table and they give it to you.

Or maybe they don't give a **** because it's just video games...
GameMaster

At first it is just video games. Then "games" become simulated shooting scenarios. Then the shooting goes from simulated to real. It's sad but true :(

It's probably in a sports bar.. where they sell things like cigarettes, beer (21), and stuff like that.
Yes and no, they dont sell games to just any underaged person but they do to me because I am cool and a valued customer. Also I am 17 but they still sell me 18 games, we have a different rating system to you, CBFD came with an M but I think it was widely considered as a kind of parental descretion thing.
