Why does it always seem to be so damn difficult to tell the ones (one) you love that your going away. Not forever just away for a while.. I told my girlfriend and she took it like I was dead.. :(

Im dont try to be mean normally, but this has gotten out of hand. Please take the soap opra elsewhere, I think I speak for quite a few people when I say that.

Well, this topic doesn't just have to be only about Ace. It can be about other, um, "saying good-bye" experiences or something...I know I'm gonna have to say goodbye to my parents this saturday when I go to college. It may be more sad for them, they're going to be empty-nesters and such with my brother being gone as well. Still, it's sad to leave home, the longest I've ever been away is a month. But, saying goodbye to one group of people allows you to say 'hello' to a new group of people, so it's all good in the 'hood.

Just remind the special people that your leave is only temporary and you'll be back. Like Frodo.

This is my forum and I give Ace permission to post his soap opera here.

If Ace needs to talk about it...go for it... no one is being forced to read all the threads (well, except me and bluefire).

Anyhow, like Germinator was saying, saying good bye is hard in general. I know when I come home for the breaks, and then have to leave, its really hard to say goodbye. One of my best friends was killed in a car crash last August, I still haven't fully said good bye,

Goodbye are hard, except when you don't like the person.

Yeah.. everyone around me now is going through the same things so I mean its hard to vent to someone who already knows whats going on. I mean most of you have no clue what its like to know that your going to a place that 102 people died here since Operation Enduring freedom began or that You and your friends are indanger and that you could die in one of the many RPG attacks. Nor do you have to deal with family and friends crying when they see you like your already dead. Or your girlfriend crying when she talks to you because she's away at college and can't spend one last week with you.. none of you know how it feels unless you've gone off to fight in a war before.
And you can call it a Soap Opera but let me tell you one thing. I'll be gone for a year and a half. This soap opera is VERY real to me and I'm just having a hard time dealing with the reality of it if you don't like my thread then I say don't read it but don't criticise it...

I still don't get why you or anyone has to go. This crazy mixed up world makes no sense to me. Set up Iraq with a democracy and let the Iraqis live their lives and let the soldiers out there come back and resume theirs.

With everything going on in Iraq, the blame is only on Bush because he gave the OK for the war and look what's happened since then. If the war made MORE SENSE, then people wouldn't complain as much, but just remember. Come this Nov., you know who to vote for and not to vote for. /end rant

It doesn't exactly get easier with time or the amount of times you do it.

The best way to say good-bye isn't to say good-bye, just say see you later. I mean you will.

It sucks, can't say you get over it, but you come to not notice as much after a few days. Atleast in college.

While I didnt support the war, and I dont like bush, we cant pull out now. If we did that bad people would just take control of the country again and it would be just like before. At least we did get rid of Saddam Hussein and his rigime. The best alternative would be to just nuke em tho.

(yes I was joking with that last sentence)

Always the hurricanes blowing,
Always the population growing . . .
And the money owing,
And the babies crying,
And the bullets flying.
I like the island Manhattan.
Smoke on your pipe and put that in!

One of my good friends was killed in a car crash about 2 weeks ago. I had known him all my life. It's weird, I don't think you can ever say goodbye to someone. He was taken so fast, he was 18, just got his life straightened out, and now he's gone. It sucks.
