View Full Version : I don't need a medal to know Kwan is better than Hughes.

I'm upset with Jessica Hughes. She took what could quite possibly be Michelle Kwan's (the real champion) last opportunity to win a gold medal at the Olympics and with this a lifelong dream. Hughes is good, I'll admit that, but I guess I just feel bad for Michelle and her slip up. If I were Hughes I guess I'd be feeling bad also. I mean it's not everyday you rob a champion of their pride and happiness. I'm not saying Michelle's chances are over but time is an enemy when you're competing in the Olympics. Youth is what sets apart Gold and Silver, first and second when you're competing with the best. Oh well, their always next time, right? :(

1) Hughes simply skated a perfect program, Kwn did not. Therefore she won the Gold.
2) its figure skating... no one cares:D

Calm down buddy. Hughes outskated Kwan, period.
And like Strangler said, who cares? Well, I don't care because they are Americans... But you should just be happy that you got 2 medals from this.

Holy s**t.. calm down!
My mom watches skating all the time, and she loves Kawn, but the truth is that she did mess up. It happens to everyone.
Hughes won the medal because she skated the better performance, she didn't make as many mistakes (I can't go off what I saw because I didn't see Hughes's performance, I only watched Kwan's).
As far as skaters go.. Sale is the hottest :D

Hughes is only 16. She has many more opportunities to succeed than Kwan who is 21 now.

Oh man, Kwan can still probably go to 1 or 2 more Olympics. Who cares? Hughes deserves the gold, and she got it.
I find it funny how Kwan was skating to that song... I forget what it is called, but it had something to do with gold... And she was wearing a gold shirt and skirt thing... Haha.. The irony.

Her name's Sarah. And she won because she skated the best. She has no reason to feel bad. Kwan had a chance but she f#cked it up. What would you expect Sarah to do? Purposely fall down to give Kwan the victory? Even if that happened it wouldn't be a real victory. Get over it, Sarah deserved to win.

Do I hear 3 doubloons, 3 doubloons anyone? ;)
Michelle Kwan was so arrogent before the competition. You'd think she would have learned from the previous one where she also lost in an upset. I think the loss is good for her.
