Thanks to holiday sales of FFXI, the PlayOnline service now has over 500,000 users in North America and Japan combined...

Square Enix U.S.A., Inc., the publisher of Square Enix interactive products in North America, announced today milestones that were reached due to the successful holiday sales of FINAL FANTASY XI. The PlayOnline service has surpassed 500,000 registered users in North America and Japan combined, with the total online community population (number of active characters) of FINAL FANTASY XI at nearly one million characters.
And the PS2 version hasn't even been released yet. Oh happy day, I feel so great to be a veteran player of this soon to be massive mark in the history of MMORPGs.

We dont need anymore people damit the servers cant handle it. It already lags too much with how many people are playing the game. I wonder if they are going to upgrade the servers since they are getting full?
