Everything you love about iPod just got tinier. iPod mini lets you bring along enough music for a three-day weekend getaway in a package so small you’ll forget you’re carrying it. Until people ask you about it, that is. Available on Mac and Windows for just $249.

So the only difference is that it's smaller, and holds less?

I'm buying an ipod soon, and want to make sure there aren't any upcoming models where I should wait. Do you know of any others??

Well, a new normal iPod might be unveiled at the MacWorld expo in San Francisco which began today and will end on the 9th, so you want to hold off 3 more days if you can, anything could happen. :)

It's a little too expensive right now. Once Apple cuts the price a little, I might get one. But I'd rather have the more beefier version.

Well, my original 5G holds 1000 songs just like the new mini and I haven't filled that yet. Maybe I'm just more selective about my songs but I doubt most people have more than 1000 songs.

Some people (like my sister), download every song they hear though, or purchase evry song they hear, so I guess it just depends on what kind of listener you are. *shrugs*

Yea, thats the one ive got. I feel basically the same way. I love apple's design, but I just cant see paying that much...I'll never use that many songs. Or have the need to.

Let me see if I understand this correctly.

I give up 1500 songs worth of capacity (from the 10 gig) and I save only $50?

That's bull****.

Especially since the 15 gig is the new 10 gig.

149.99, maybe 99.99 sure. 249.99 I may as well just pull down my pants and bend over before hand and save them the time time.

Ohhhhhhh shiny colors.

Give me a break.

*Before the mac homers jump on me, I'd like to add that I love my 30 gig Ipod.

new ones dont impress at all. thats going in the wrong direction. need to make smaller ones that hold MORE.

i have my 30gig model, and its fun to look at other models and price how much it would be to get the amount of space that i got in my $500 30gig. I added up this one mp3 player once in the sales add, and it woulda costed me over $30,000 worth of that player just to equal my ipod.

for instance, for thoes new ipods, to get the same amount of storage as mine, id be spending about $1,750 worth of thoes things.

i know that works for many things in the world. nothing is ever priced in ratio with the upper models. but still. neat to see, hehe.

Hmmmm, I paid $120 for my Lyra 1080 (128mb + SD expand + FM radio) a year ago. I would get an iPod in an instant if the prices were lower. This one is tempting me at $250.

I already saw and used this new iPod. It was good. :D
My dad had to test it for the magazine he works for. I never realised it was the latest edition. :(

price is too steep, and i'm assuming thats $250 american, so thats about $320 Canadian.....naw....not worth it.....YET, besides, can you get the full versitility of it if you don't have a mac?

Sweet Jesus! it has games on it as well?? i'm surprised Apple hasn't made an i-Phone yet

ipods always had games. and yes. it works the same on apple or PC.

IMO, thoes will never be worth it. not with the compacity size, normal ipod, which now goes to 40gigs is already the smallest player in its class. fits in the palm of your hand. honestly, except for getting Thinner (which its already the thinnest) i wouldnt want it smaller.

If they make one as tiny as my Mpio I'll have to consider it.

is that true?

yes and no. bouncer just reposted something thats been on here for quite a while now. the big discussion over that has long since pased.

ipods battery will die. Every battery dies
theres no such thing as a battery that wont eventually die.
part thats wrong tho is the ipods battery is replacable, and cheap. or you can send it back if its under warrenty and they'll replace it.

and Danchastu, need a menu with a couple thousand songs. otherise makes things difficult.
