Ok, this is where market saturation is coming in now. The future of gaming as we know it is going to get waaay to crowded. I hope Apex fails horribly since they always make cheap ass products anyways. But heres a link (I couldn't find any other site with news of it)

*edit* Here's the official site

And an Image of the "thing"

All this thing is, is a fricken PC that hooks to your low resolution TV (unless you have a top of the line HD TV, which most people don't have). I will not be wasting my money on something like this when I can just buy a simple cable, run it from my current PC to my TV and play games on it. Then again, most people can't or don't have the right stuff to do it. But I will not be buying a simple dumbed down PC. Ill take my $300-$400 somewhere else *runs to the internet and buys more wonderful things for my current PC*
*edit again*
Now that I'm reading the FAQ, I can't help but laugh
What's the advantage of using the DISCover® over a PC system?
A PC is not a game console. A gamer has to install and run a computer program to play a game. Also, a PC is not designed to be part of the living room or family room home entertainment system. The DISCover® is a game console that allows the gamer to play a game by simply dropping the game disc into the console. DISCover® is optimized for gaming and entertainment, and leaves productivity tasks (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.) to the home PC.
Wait, doesnt the "ApeXtreme" also have to install a game to run? You can't just stream a PC game.
What is the expected price of the DISCover® going to be?
The cost of an entry-level DISCover® console is projected to be between $299-$399. Considering the numerous amounts of capabilities DISCover® has over a typical console, we are positive that it will outperform all "next-gen" video game consoles. High-end units, that manufacturers will load up with greater options such as CD Burners and PVRs, and will be offered at a wide range of price point.
Don't be so positive you can outperform the PS2 at the very elast.
