Any other answer is wrong.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
Any other answer is wrong. Yes, even FFVI. ;)

Ginkasa is right. A Link to the Past, no doubt.

The memories of first playing Lttp...*reminisces*
Haha, there was no definitive "best" title for the SNES. There was a crapload that would have deserved it.
And what's SMW3? I assume you mean 2. :P
Anyways, my picks are Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Man, all kickass. Then there were non-RPG's. Megaman, LTTP, SMW, SMW2.. god.. too many.

actually, I forgot about aLttP. Even though I've played it 10x more on my SNES than on my GBA, I've really begun to think of it as a gameboy game.
So I stand corrected. FFVI is #2.
And seriously Square/Enix. What the ****? Port over FFVI and CT to GBA. They could charge $50 each and they'd still sell.

Yes, I loved the Donkey Kong Series, and the Mario World games too. Also, Super Metroid was great. Well...I just got it for christmas..since I've always wanted it and I am liking it a lot so far.

Do not, I repeat, do not, tell them that. :)

I missed out on so much stuff. :(

Yeah same here. In between NES and N64 I had Sega Genesis. I'm not sad though, Genesis has just as many classics as SNES does. Ah, the wonderful Sega memories. :)

Boo! What about Turbo-Grafx 16? I used to play my uncle's all the time too when I wasn't played my friend's genensis or the hell out of my SNES. :)
Yeah! The DKC series rocked.

LttP was definitely the best game in my opinion. However, Star Ocean 1 (freshly translated as of the New Years) is definitely a close second.

Star Fox
Super Mario RPG
SMW
Aladdin
Spider-Man: Maximum Carnage

i have maximum carnage, its fun, but it gets way too hard later on....namely when you start facing Carnage...never really got around to beating it...SMRPG is great, kickass graphics for its time, and starfox is of course a classic. Aladdin was fun, but too short....

SNES had some cool games, but I was more a fan of the Genesis feel. Hmmm... Phantasy Star IV. It's classic and timeless.
While SNES had fun graphics and was quite cartoony with exciting gameplay, I feel Genesis' techno-electronic beats to their LSD influenced games were just amazing. Herzog Zwei, Alex Kidd, Toe Jam and Earl, PS series, Altered Beast (No Nukes), and Mutant League Football. Man, I just can't express the feel that the games have.

agreed.... especially if you had the cheat codes

:...: Level skip codes do generally shorten a game....
On a side note, I think I still remember the Genesis Aladdin code. I think it's ACACACACBBBB while you're in the options menu...

Vectorman had really cool codes... easy to remember too.
CALL A CAB
L = left
And stuff like that. Oh man... the days.
All this leet hackzoring reminds me of the Konami code.. :D
Up up down down left right left right A B start!
Speaking of Aladdin.. that was one of Shinji Mikami's first games--the Resident Evil guy--and he also made Goof Troop. Goof Troop and Aladdin rocked so much. :) I think Aladdin was better on Genesis though.

I thought it was kind of cool that you had a sword and all. For some reason it just kind of seemed to be the start if Nintendo's kiddy image. That was the first time I walked around in school and people talked about how Nintendo didn't want the sword in their game (which actually wasn't the case at all).
At any rate, I liked the SNES version better overall.

They were two COMPLETELY different games. I doubt that they were made by the same guy. you had a sword in the genesis version i believe, the SNES version was much closer to the game gear version, which i am a proud owner of :D

Right, I understand that they were two completely different games. But they were both based on the same franchise and both launched around the same time. So yeah...

I'm an RPG man. Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG are my memories, with LttP right behind them.
However, the crown jewel goes to Final Fantasy VI for being the best freaking RPG ever IMO.

YES! Didn't you just love that secret at the beginning where it took you to the end of the level? lol, that kind of just took the fun out of it, unless you were beating the game for the 5th time and just wanted to beat the level.
