Well new Mario SunShine pics have hit the Net and well Mario SunShine looks to have gone through some changes since SpaceWorld namely in the interface department. Mario's health is now where the Sun Meter was.. The Water meter is now at the bottom and well his coins no longer look to be the sun ones

Personally, I don't like Em
I saw them at PGC, but where did they actually come from? They look much worse than the first shots.
The tree looks like a sprite, and the windmill in the first pic is a sprite (Snowboard Kids on the N64 had the same kind of graphics). The water, coin and life meters also look like they're pasted on with Photoshop.
I think the Gamecube's much more powerful than this. What I'm trying to say is, these shots don't look real to me (at least, I hope they aren't).

Those don't look real. just look at the "clarity" of the windmill. The textures look bad, and I know they looked good in the movie, so I'm assuming these are fake.

it could just be Nintendo fan denial, but apparently on IGN a lot of people are saying they're fake... I think their main reasons are because it looks worse than the spaceworld 2001 movie...

they look nice, just a little fuzzy I think.. I think it was the program and not the game..

I agree. I think they are yet another batch of edited images.

Well, I think that the graphics look good... I am not sure what you guys are smoking.
I tihnkn that no matter what type of graphics, the game is going to sell like hot cakes... And we shouldn't judge on pics!!!!

These screenshots have been digitaly assembled, me thinks. For a start, the resoloution appears to differ between the first screenshot's Mario, and it's background. Another trail clue is the "Life" symbol. Nintendo, on the whole, prefer to have easy to grasp symbols for health meters, not annoying and confusing numbers and statistics. Also, as with the first Mario and background, the resoloution appears far too high.

IGN posted them, guess they are real. Still look like crap. I know GC's dev kit doesn't capture well, but this is blur, not jaggies. And like BrokenBones said, the area under his feet looks cut. I was much more impressed with the SpaceWorld movie.
And I'm not happy about Mario and his paint. I'm still waiting for Goombas, Koopas, and Bowser before I'm satisfied.

I vote for fake as well... Miyamoto said he'd show NOTHING of mario until E3, besides, look at the pic. his face is blurry but his moustache is clean? what the hell?

Well this is from cloudChaser Nintendo
Please note that a lot of these screens (Mario Sunshine especially) are low-res images and don't reflect the final product. We've been assured that the actual videos looked miles better and the rough look is down the capturing method.
But I agree on Gekko..Where the hell are my goombas and Koopa troopas..ARGH

A new batch of screens were uncovered, together...Period!
Why would they have authentic screen of other games, but fake ones of Mario?
They are ugly screens! That doesn't mean they are fake...just ugly.
In any event. I really want to know why we are even allowing ourselves to get all worked up about them. You shouldn't allow them to contaminate your outlook on Mario Sunshine.
I just came to remind you of some few things. I'm a little surprised that crap like this turned out to be such a deal. I expect that from IGN boards, not you guys.
---------------------------
You've already seen extended video of Mario Sunshine in motion. That wasn't some odd tech-demo, that wasn't FMV, it was actual footage of gameplay. Don't expect the final game to look of any less quality than that. Feel free to quote me in the future.
Even that particular video represented an early form. Things are only going to improve. That was clear by the bland textures and the sub-par water effects, both of which were far inferior to Nintendo's own game, Pikmin(which was essentially a 'launch' game).
That Spaceworld video indicates what will be the next chapter in the world's best platformer. Please don't let some pic of extremely early work discourage you or even leave you doubtful(cause that most likely what those pics are). You've already witness an impressive--although unpolished--implication of what's to come. You've already seen it in it's most genuine form.
Remember that!
PS: I don't think any of you have implied it, but I'd hate to think that you might actually believe the next true Mario game would look like a graphical port of the N64 version. I saw some posts along those lines at IGN, but I didn't care to intervene because I know those guys are all have brain- tumors.

Yeah, he's right! Let's not convince ourselves that things are happening that really aren't.

I have to agree with Dreal. Why get all worked up for early, low-res pics that don't show the true look of the game? The final version will look very good I'm sure.

That's what everybody at the IGN boards said BUT...
The game was in-development for the N64. Maybe Nintendo just ported it to the GCN hardware and now is remaking the textures, graphics engine etc.
EDIT: The game was orginaly being made for the N64 and somewhere after devloping it for 2 years it was decided to bring it to the GCN.

lol
Although to be fair, the Spaceworld 2K version was just a tech demo, and the new zelda looks that way just because of the style of graphics they picked... *cough*...

Anyway I want Mario cell-shaded. Jet Grind Radio was amazing and these titles have an equal potential.
