Holland's 11th I believe. It also depends on how you count. I think a gold medal should count more than a silver or bronze one. So that would place Norway first.

But you can't count just gold, you have to include silver and bronze as well. If you go by a reasonable point system, like gold=5, silver =3, bronze=1 or gold =4, silver=2, bronze =1, the standings remain virtually unchanged. The only difference being that Austria and Russia switch positions. This is based on medal counts as of this posting.

What if you count the gold medals first, and if two countries have the same amount of them, you count the silver ones, then the bronze ones. That's the most used count system I believe.

Are you saying then that a country with 10 gold medals did better than a country with 9 gold, 7 silver, and 12 bronze medals?
I actually think the most used system is the one represented in the original post as that is how I've seen the ranking everywhere I go.
