But I didn't buy it because I can get it cheaper at another shop, which didn't have it yet/anymore.
I was also looking for MKDD, but it was totally sold out.
Reactions to 1080 are mixed. Some love it, others don't. Some say it's better than SSX3, others say it's not.
The avalanches seem great. :D The sense of danger is way higher than in SSX3, you can't deny that.
The trick system isn't as advanced, but the sense of speed awesome.
I want to get it as soon as the cheap store has it. :D And MKDD of course. And then the free Zelda Collectors Edition. :p
I'm getting it no matter what. Tonight, I discovered the true fun of LAN with Mario Kart. 1080 should be no different. And, I loved the original 1080.

Same here. The original 0wned. I'll be picking it up sometime after Christmas.
ack, wrong button.
I loved the original myself. but this one just doesnt seem like it anymore. nor does it have the old pazaz.
getting burned too many times on nintendo hoping thier fans will base thier buys off previous games in the series rather then on the game itself. aside from Mario kart. many of thier game updates havnt been too great of updates

I have the game! :D I ordered it at a shop, but it took too long so I bought it at another one! :p
I haven't played it yet, only read the manual. :)
Edit: I played it, it's good. :D It's fast, REALLY FAST!!! The controller just shakes in your hand when you're on top-speed... hehe

Are the 1080s easier to pull off now? Is it easier to land tricks? How is the course desing?

Although I haven't pulled of a 1080, it's way easier. You just hold R and press your stick to a side. Rotating the sticks makes you rotate faster.
The tracks are very good. Dodging trees, taking sharp turns, boarding over ice, it's all there. :D Sometimes it's a bit hard to find the road though, cause sometimes you have to break through fences and stuff. But once you know it, the tracks are great. :)
The game is pretty easy though... it's just like in 1080, you have 3 'cups': easy, normal and hard. You can't play the first one on hard, like in MK. But slalom mode and stuff adds a lot of replay! Plus 4-player! :D:D
Edit: I can't compare it too SSX3.

Has anyone played SSX3? How do the two games compare?

I just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying tis game! :D:D The whole gameplay is SO satisfying!! The tracks are so well designed! The short cuts are perfect. Jumping is awesome and I LOVE the flips!!! :D
The avalanche levels are slick.
If you liked 1080 on N64, get this game.

I'd just like to comment on the title of this thread. You say, "1080º Avalanche is here" which technically it is, but I don't think you were specific enough. Because 1080 degrees has existed since mankind founded geometry and also the temperature form of 1080º has existed for a very long time because natural things like volcanoes and stars have genrated 1080º and even higher than that. And as for the avalanche part, well, avalanches also existed before mankind so to say avalanches are here, in relation to you is kind of incorrect. The right thing to say would be, "I am finally existant to witness 1080 degress and avalanches," since both existed long before you did. But if you're refering to the hot new new Nintendo Gamecube game, 1080º: Avalanche, you need to assert that in the thread title by saying something like, "A snowboarding video game titled 1080º: Avalanche is now playable in my location."
