One Winged Angel

Two people die every second, That's 172,800 a day. If we assume that each has 80 pounds of edible flesh and organs that's 13,824,000 pounds of food made everyday. If we allot 1/2 a pound of food to each poor starving African child then that's 27,648,000 children saved! That's practically a whole country, all saved through the joys of cannibalism!
See? Cannibalism can bring good to the world! :)

The food problem would also be solved if everyone became vegetarian.

Errr
So, you're saying if we don't eat meat, we'll have more foot to eat? In example, one who hunts for food and harvests fruits should abandon hunting and just stick to the fruits?
Yeah, I don't think not eating will fill our stomachs.

besides, if we all became vegitarians (like me) there would be less food. We would have to overplant the ground, and the soil would eventually go bad. There is NO good soil in many places where people starve, that's one of the reasons why they are starving.

The point is, if you want to eat meat, you have to feed both the cow/pig/whatever AND yourself. If you don't have to grow the cow, you can eat the grain.
Of course you still have to do it right, you need to grow more soja beans and stuff. You can probably still eat SOME meat, because you'll need milk and eggs. Those cows and chickens will die when they're old... Yeah. :)
But let's not start a fight on that in this thread.

But wait, Your logic is incorrect because you have to figure in teh starving children as part of the dieing population so if we start feeding them then they wouldn't be starving and thus not die. So the number of people who die each day would decrease casusing starving people yet again :)

I'm soo confused but if you feed people then they stop dying thus defeating the purpose of having people eat the dead when the dead stop dying.
:strangled

Also object of humor in SNL among other shows/movies. No doubt Simpsons had something to say about it.
EDIT: Oh yes, I remember... in the Iron Chef spoof that Futurama had, the ingredient of the match was soylent green.

Well, in a way we do eat people. You see, when people die, we either bury them or cremate them (or dump them into the sea). In any case, the body decomposes and eventually becomes a part of the soil or sea. And plants use those decomposed bodies to form their own bodies.
So, the chances are in fact very good that some of the atoms you have eaten were part of a human being at one point. But then again, some of the atoms that make up your own body used to be part of a plant.
