Chapter 3
Dyne stumbled through the darkened streets, his fiery bloodlust increasing with each step. He stopped in front of a gray house with no lights. He peered in through the clean, clear window, and could make out a large figure sleeping in the corner of the room. He sniffed the air twice, his oversensitive nose inhaling the smell that so clearly radiated from the creature, and turned and walked away from the house. The large creature in the corner was too fat; he would not be a pleasant meal.
Dyne walked to the end of the block, and turned around the corner of a second house. He immediately stopped. There, in the center of the street in front of the gray stone house was a man. He seemed very confused, looking about in every direction and scratching his chin. Dyne recognized him immediately as Zebra Rampage. Dyne lowered his body close to the ground, supporting himself on all fours. As soon as Zebra was looking the complete opposite direction, Dyne made his move. The rippling muscles and sinew in his thighs released all the mighty energy built up in them, and he leaped towards Zebra. Dyne did not let out a battle cry, he just silently flew towards Zebra, who had no idea that Dyne was drawing closer with every millisecond. Just before impact, Dyne opened his arms, and immediately wrapped them around Zebra’s shoulders. The force of the jump knocked Zebra to the floor, and the two of them slid for an entire 7 feet, the rough asphalt of the street tearing the skin from Zebra’s face and chest, and Dyne’s arms, leaving a trail of sticky green blood and ripped pieces of flesh.
Zebra screamed, but Dyne remained silent, smiling about the kill he was ready to make. He used the tremendous strength in his arms to roll Zebra over onto his back, and grabbed him by the collar of Zebra’s leather jacket. Dyne growled once, and then began to thrash Zebra’s body against the pavement, crushing the bones in his back and shoulders. Zebra gave a slight shudder, and then ceased all movement. Dyne smiled now, revealing a row of razor sharp teeth that gleamed like porcelain. He placed his right index finger over Zebra’s chest, and a transformation began. The finger began to grow longer, until it was a full foot in length. Then it began to curve and flatten, until it formed a large, flesh colored blade. He gently placed the tip of it on the left side of Zebra’s chest, just above the heart. He eased the sword finger forward, and it slid into Zebra as though a hot knife would through butter. When it penetrated the heart, Dyne smiled again, even larger than before. It was still beating, still warm. With a flick of his wrist, Dyne removed the heart from Zebra’s body. When he saw it, he gasped. The entire heart was constructed of chocolate, and the green blood that flowed through it smelled of mint! He greedily forced the heart down his mouth, chewing it only twice. He savored the intense flavor, and let the blood roll down his chin before licking it off. He then used his scimitar like finger to lay open Zebra’s stomach, and removed the licorice lungs, the sponge cake liver, and the peppermint kidneys. He then traced a circle around the top of Zebra’s head, and the blue cotton candy brains fell to the street.
Dyne devoured all of Zebra’s vital organs, and set off down the street again, looking for another meal, and hoping that it could be half as delicious as his last one.

Darkmaster kept to the shadows. He didn’t feel safe out in the artificial glow that lit the streets. He had been walking for what seemed like hours, though it very well might have been 5 minutes. He couldn’t really decide why he was walking, or where he was going. He just kept moving. His heart was beating rapidly, and he was having trouble breathing. He slumped up against the wall, using his shoulder as support as he walked. Without warning, his legs gave out, and he collapsed onto the cold cement.
He put out his arms and began to push himself back up to his feet. Halfway through this rigorous process, he stopped. He looked down at his arms and moaned; the part below his elbows had disappeared. The sight was too much for Darkmaster. He screamed and fell backwards, and as he did the lower part of his arms seemed to grow back. He held them up to his eyes and checked them. He frowned. They were still in one piece, with no obvious imperfections. The placed both hands back onto the shadowed cement, and pushed. His arms sank into the cement up to his elbows, and he knew that the further he pushed, the more of him that would fall into the cement. He looked around, and gasp when he saw two black arms reaching up out of the side walk only 5 feet in front of him. When he pulled his arms out of the cement, the black arms receded back into the shadow. When he moved his fingers, so did the hands.
Darkmaster realized what was happening. The hands in front of him were his shadow puppets. His hands were not sinking into the cement, but were in fact merging with the shadow on the cement. Darkmaster smiled. This was interesting, very interesting. He decided to let everything go, and he lowered his entire body into the cold, dark, shadow. As soon as he did so, he was back out. His body was now black, a shadow of his former self. He tested his new power. He found that he could sink into a shadow, and erupt back out of any one that he wanted, no matter how far away. It was as though he were connected to the “Shadow Internet.” He also discovered that he could summon other “Shadow Puppets.” When he was touching a shadow, he could summon out of it any form of shadow creature that he wanted.
The first thing that Darkmaster summoned was a Tiger. The tiger was huge in size, and completely black. Darkmaster climbed on top of it. The Tiger had become his steed. He began to urge it forward, but before they could get moving, he felt a tap on his shoulder. Darkmaster turned his head around saw that Dyne was standing just behind him. Dyne smiled, showing gleaming teeth that were stained green, and said “Dark meat!”
He unleashed the stored up energy in his legs, and pounced Darkmaster, sending him flying off of his Tiger steed. Darkmaster landed in the shadows of another building. He quickly sank into the shadow, and grew out of another shadow behind Dyne. Darkmaster reached out with his two midnight black hands, and grasp Dyne’s neck, and began to strangle him. Dyne gagged, and then reach back and gripped Darkmaster’s leg, then pulled, causing Darkmaster to collapse onto the hard cement. Once again, he sank into the shadow.
This time he grew out of the ground next to his Tiger, who had remained motionless. He straddled the tiger, and urged it forward. The tiger roared, and leapt towards Dyne. The tiger pinned him down, and lowered its fangs to Dyne’s neck. Just as it was about to take Dyne’s life, Dyne screamed out. His body convulsed as though it was connected to an electric wire. His head slammed violently against the asphalt, and emerald green blood erupted from his mouth, nose, ears and eyes. He cried out, again, and again. Finally, when the convulsions stopped, he sobbed. He looked up into the mouth of the Tiger, the mouth of Hell, and cried out, “Stop!...It’s me…Zebra...”

This chapter sucked, miserably. I am not happy with it, but I do not feel as though I could really make it any better. Just…whatever. I have some really awesome ideas, but I need to kill off some people first, that way I can go into more detail by using fewer characters. And do not forget, the mysterious girl Eden still has a part to play….
But here you are! Enjoy!
