If I converted MP3 format songs into the CD audio format and then burned them onto a DVD, would normal CD players found in cars and stuff be able to read the audio like they do on CDs. I ask because the normal CD-Rs availble for purchase don't have enough capacity for CD audio formatted songs, they're great for MP3s but most CD players can't read that so I was thinking a DVD has a lot more space so I could fit all the songs I want onto 1 DVD in the CD audio format and then be able to play it in normal players instead of just computers.

No. DVDs and CDs are based on the same technology, but the information is packed much much tighter than the information on CDs. In order to read this information, you must have a better laser than that found in regular CD players and your regular stereo just won't have it. DVD players only play CDs because they include a laser designed for CDs. I think Sony invented a laser shortly before the PS2 came out that could read both CDs and DVDs, but you won't find this in a CD player. It's only purpose was so that DVD players could have one laser instead of two.

Now, if you wanted to play this just on DVD players or DVD audio players, then it might work. I wouldn't know.

just buy a cd player that reads mp3's :p

and normal cd's arent that much a prob really for cars and such. most all CD players will read a CD R when you make it into an audio CD. usually you can only fit 15 to 20 songs on it. but hey, for the car thats fine.

I agree with you on that one. My MP3 car stereo system is the best thing since Pong. And they're getting relatively low priced, now. But if you get one, make sure it has a random (or shuffle) mode on it.
