That might be a little tougher to do since Silicon Knights is developing the game and I think they are second party, if I'm not mistaken. (And if I am, correct me:)) But then again, Konami is the publisher, so who knows.....

Right. This remake is GC exclusive. Konami could remake it themselves for the PS2 though (or hand it over to another developer).

Its a shame it's been delayed to early 2004, but it's looking to be awsome.

Yeah it likely wont transfer to any other system. Most definetly part of the deal between Konami and Nintendo.

Wish I had broadband at home so I could watch those videos. Still on good ol 56k.

I've seen screen shots and they do look good. I might pick it up, but more likely just rent it.

That's what I meant. I know this version is GC exclusive, but MGS is still essentially Konami's game.

By now it would seem kind of useless to start a remake of MGS1 for PS2 since the PS2 is showing its age. Maybe next gen we will see an MG(S) collection. All the old NES/SNES (if there was any, I'm not sure....), PS1, and PS2 games all on one disc for either one console or all 3.

Just watched the video yesterday, neat stuff. But they should not have shown all the cut scenes!! Well maybe they didn't show all, but I hope those weren't the best ones (the action packed ones).

PS2 is showing it's age? Yeah I guess, MGS TS looks soooooooo much better than MGS3 graphically, and all those graphics from other games like Jak II and more just blow... Poor, poor PS2... :distress: Looks like it will die out before NGC, just like PSX died before N64...

However I do agree that a remake on PS2 wouldn't be as big of a deal... MGS is already on the system in one form or another, and it also already has a new MGS game, and another one coming up... And I'll already own TS on NGC anyways :p

Oh yeah and that trailer seemed to show way too much... Almost every good cutscene dealy in the game except the ending... Though it showed a short clip from that too... Showing Meryl get shot? Come on... That's a little too much for the trailer...

Who hasnīt played the game by now to not know that? I donīt think even the most hardcore Nintendo fan hasnīt picked up yet a copy of MGS in the past and played the game to know the plot. Itīs almost like George Lucas re-releasing the SW trilogy (God, let it not happen again) and trying to hide the plot in the trailers. Donīt you think?

Well not eeeeeveryone has heard the story dealies...

And there's always new gamers... Just getting into gaming or whatever...

And yes, TheGame and I were talking the other night and he mentioned how they showed too much in the trailer (at the time I hadn't seen it) and I said they do that because they figure a good portion of gamers already knows what happens...

But if they know what happens, why would they need to see a trailer anyways? They should just keep it secret for those who don't know... *shrugs*

I don't know the storyline. I half watched the trailer....not really though cuz i was listening to music and only saw about half of it...just looking at the visuals. So I still don't have a clue to what the storline is..something about a nuke or something...that's all I heard.

So, I'll probably be getting it and stuff.

I really liked the twin snakes trailer better then the new snake eater trailer. The new mgs3 trailer was a lot like the opening to a bad james bond film.

Oh jeez DH. Could you be any more sarastic. I wasn't even trying to imply that PS2 is inferior. I'm just saying that if you start an MGS Remake on PS2 and don't expect it for 2 years or so, by the time you finish, PS3 will be really close to coming out.

TTS looks spectacular, and all the cutscenes have been re-shot -- too bad there won't be any unlockable VR missions, or any unlockables for that matter.
