For those who havent heard, Nintendo is planning on entering the chinese market, and to do so, they are going to try new methods to avoid piracy. China is known for a lot of piracy which has kept of the console makers at arms length from china.

But Nintendo will try and gain an ignored market (other than all the games they pirate) by releasing the iQue.

Its kind of sounds extreme in some ways buy what ever works (though like everything, someone will find some way to hack it)

To curb piracy the console comes with a single memory card to download games which is only usable on the console it was sold with. Titles will include 10 Chinese language versions of past Nintendo games.

The iQue player will cost 498 yuan (60 USD). Each game can be downloaded for only 48 yuan (5.80 USD).

Its cheap yes, but its also old games. And they are pretty much using this as a test in the market, not going full-fledged new generation. And the cheap price may not seem so bad compared to free pirated game than 50 dollar games would be.

The iQue looks like a touched up Dreamcast Controller. The wireless Gameboy links look like marketing ploys to sell off with the new rehashed Pokémon games. The Special Edition Gamecube has a sticker on the system and controller and a new color.

hmmm...that controller does resemble the Dreamcast controller(which wasnt a bad controller) It looks almost like a cross between the Dreamcast controller and the N64 controller...strange.

That's exactly the same thing I was thinking when I saw it. Could the chinese one day be able to play Ocarina of Time. They would be able to see the greatest game ever made (IMO) non-pirated:D

But on the subject of the iQue Player, this could be a good step towards a healthy relationship with Nintendo and China. Eventually they could have an actual console that is harder then hell to pirate. (Like we've seen with the 'Cube). This is a small step towards bigger things. I want to see where Nintendo will be in the Chinese market someday.

On the subject of the wireless GBA Link-up. Nintendo is finally making one, thankfully. I wonder how far the range will be. Hopefully at least as far as the Wavebirds can go. Then you can have even better fun with friends being in seperate rooms in a more comfortable way and not crammed together in one spot. *Imagines 2-4 GBP's with the wireless link-up*

I decided to read up more about the wireless link-up and now I dislike the way Nintendo is doing it. Only games that support the wireless linkup will use it. So any games out right now won't be able to work with it:mad: Only future games.

I guess my hope has failed that Nintendo would do better then to just make it only support future games.

I guess they cant seem to make it so that older games will respond to it.

I figured it wouldn't be too hard to make it compatible with older games. They were able to make it so that the Wavebird is compatible with almost every piece of software on the 'Cube (with the exception of the newest Action Replay's in which Wavebird support is not there). So I should think that it wouldn't be too hard.

Oh well, Nintendo just wants to profit from this and make it so that people have to buy the upcoming Pokemon games so that the wireless can be used.

I think they would sell more if it was compatable with everything. That way not just people who buy games that do work with it would buy it, but people who have games that dont.

I'll be Holy sh*t and god damn, it really IS the ZEON LOGO from MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM and MS Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory (OAV) as seen in the opening against "The Winner" clashing with a Feddie flag, and the console is RED!@ As in the Red Comet aka Char Aznable!

I was staring at that thing for five minutes aganst my Gundam 0083 Discs to make sure and it's definitly a Zeek logo, damn... is Nintendo going to do some sort of Promo for their new "Mobile Suit/Kidou Senshi Gundam: The Ace Pilot" game with a Special Edition "Red Comet" Game Cube that'd make Char the infamous Zeon Commander proud?

It looks like Nintendo and BanDai have been working togetehr on this one, that's definnitlya Zeon logo I'm sure of it, if anyone has a Picture of the Zeon Flag, it's on there, bettter yet, just take a look at any of the Musai's on MS Gundam, they all have it on there.

Damn I'm not one for red, but this is a ncie little console, iif it comes iwwth that game Boy Player I'm gonna love it.

Sieg Zeon! Nintendo has joined the Duchy of Zeon and broken away form the Earth Federation, heh, kinda cool, I wonder what that logo is doing on there though, something tells me MBanDai and Nintendo have an Acde (Pilot0 or two up their sleeve.

Yes, they sometimes make game editions of their consoles. Tales of Symphonia had one I think, FF:CC had one i think, and this. There might be more.

Ussually only in japan.

I like the idea of having a new color. I want 4 different colors of controllers and right now i'm only at two. And i don't like the orange.

cool, definately an excuse to buy a wavebird...it is annoying that they don't sell platinum controllers separately
