I'm actually kind of excited. I think Silent Hill could be a very good horror movie if done correctly.

The demons and monsters can not be the focus of the movie. The game doesn't focus on theme, the movie should not. The worst mistake these people can make is making Silent Hill a "startle" movie.

I think the story could esily be adapted into a movie with little to no condensing. They may have to rewrite a bit though so it makes sense without having to read a guide on the plot.

lol...resident evil, and now this...i did play and beat SH2 on Xbox...great game and all...but it was pretty confusing not having to play the first one before hand. but it was good anyway, if they can make the atmosphere the same, like all bloody, dark, and foggy, then it would be great.

SH2's storyline isnt connected to SH1's, except for taking place in the same town, there really isnt a whole lot connected. So that confusing feeling you got was purely of SH2's confusing nature, its very abstract.

And I dont hope that the movie is similar to SH2, because the majority of people who go to see it wont understand what the hell is going on.

Something like SH1 would be much more appropriate.

What are you talking about? SH2 was much easier to understand than SH. I only read the SH2 plot guide to clear up a few minor things but I had no clue what happened in SH until I read its guide.

Although whichever story they adapt, they'll need to make it a little clearer for the general audience.

Are you serious? Wow, you're the only person I've ever seen say that about SH2.

SH2 is more foggy than SH1. There was a lot of hidden meaning which was integral parts of the story. Good story, but I dont think many people will understand it fully. When I beat SH2 at my friend's house, he and the other 2 people there were like "what the f*ck? the game is over? what the hell happened?" But I was like "sweet, great story."

I think too many people are too lazy to but a lot of thought into understanding a storyline, thats the problem.

Screw adapting a story. They should write a completely new one. Keep it fresh.

That's what they always do... which is why videogame movies end up being crap most of the time... Well, it's one of the reasons..

I think they should base it on a game... SH2 would make a better single-time movie, but SH1 would be better if they end up making a sequel (based on Sh3)... yeah... Can't wait though (^_____^

This is not the only good news... Konami is coming up with some better ideas...

http://www.spong.com/

Today they said something about a Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania movie... Konami was "thinking" about it... or something.

PS: I can't directly link the site's article or copy and paste. That's why I posted the site's URL. As of right now, it's the 2nd article down...

I think a Metal Gear Solid movie could make for a nice action film (Based on MGS1, or maybe a new movie IF Kojima is heavily involved in the story and the like), but Castlevania? Ehhh... Maybe... But Castlevania isn't heavy on the story, and IMO the best part of the story of Castlevania is it's history from game to game, which I don't think you could really capture in a movie because there are so many games spanning such a large period of time...

If they made one it would probably end up being a mindless whip-n-slash...
