How many of you have or are, dating one of your friends that you've known for like the longest time? Well just the other day me and my friend that i've known since Junior High got together, and for some reason, it doesnt even feel like were dating/ just more like two friends hanging out alot more.

If anyone has an input or any stories, feel free to share them.

This is really wierd that his topic come up right now. Because at this exact moment on MSN I have just asked out a girl I have known for 2 years, and we have been the best of friends, and she said yes. Spooky how this came up right now.

[edit] yes I do know her in real life, she goes to my school. just making sure people didnt think that since I ask her out on MSN that I met her online.

I've heard dating friends is a lot better than dating someone you don't know.. I know a lot of people who married and used to be friends. It tends to pay off in the long run.

Actually, the only advice I've heard about dating is that you should make them your friend first so you know more about them. You'd have more of a chance, anyways.

sorry to spook you, just the other day my friend of like 8 years asked me out, it made my friend a little jealous that i've known for a very long time, because shes friends with us too, I dont want her mad at me, i think shes mad because she likes him too, but just not in the same way as i do.

for some reason i totally agree with you, i hate change, i hate to meet new people and then date em and to not know anything about them, for all i know they could have bi-polar or they could be a psycho.. thats why i especially like making friends and then dating.

My only advice is BE CAREFUL! Make sure that you move slowly enough, that if you find the relationship isn't working, you can still preserve the friendship. After you've made out with someone who used to be like your brother, its ofimes hard to go back.

but good luck and congrats.

i have a friend that i've known for the past 6 years that things are getting a bit close... its weird because i never looked at her in that light until like a month ago....and then i wonder whether she feels the same way, and i'm afraid 2 ask cuz i don't wanna ruin the friendship

I have feelings for my best friend (who is a girl). I've known her since I was 2 weeks old. I would go for it but since I moved we live 2 towns away from eachother.

It's weird having these sort of feelings. You know you probably shouldn't but you can't help it.

If I get into USC she'll probably move to California with me so we'll see what happens. Oh....and it's a possibility that Dyne might come to California too. Game design colleges and whatnot.

I had a close friend who sequentially turned into my 'girlfriend' when I started liking girls in 'that way' and vice versa (I was in grade 5, she was in grade 6). We stayed together for over a year...puppy love ;)...and we've stayed fairly good friends...she's actually attending the University of South Carolina on a volleyball scholorship. Chatted with her yesterday, even...

Give me a PM, when you come out here and we could meet up or something and have a Smash Bros. Battle :)

All I can say is be really careful, you wouldn't want to lose a good friendship. But at the same time, it could turn out to be great. It all depends on how you both feel (so talk a lot). And don't let things get too far if you start to doubt it.

The difference between friends and dating is special privelges;) That's about it.

It's probably why it still feels like your friends and not datin. But I'm no expert :p
