Even since June 2001, many have been awaiting this game and the clock is ticking while the game gets closer and closer. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 is similar to TH2 graphic-wise but with several improvements and additions. For example, unlike the shaded characters in TH2, TH3 has fully textured skaters! With texture-mapped skaters, Vicarious Visions was able to include the create-a-skater feature into the game. The amount of detail in the levels is massive. Another addition to the game is animated pedestrians and cars. The levels are two to three times bigger than they were in the previous version. Events in the level can be triggered that alter the level for more possibilities in trick lines. In the LA level, an earthquake can be triggered which changes the level.

The much-anticipated multiplayer will be included! Multiplayer in this game will be available for four players via a link cable. Yes. That means four polygonal skaters on the screen at once. The multiplayer modes in the game are similar to the ones in other versions; they are HORSE, Trick Attack, Free Skate, Tag, King of the Hill. In HORSE, you have to match the score that other players get in one combo. First one to get H-O-R-S-E loses. Trick Attack is players trying to get as many points as possible in a set amount of time. Free Skater is a mode with four players skating around a level doing what they want without time limitations. Tag is simply what is sounds like. Players skate around with one person being “it.” That person must tag the other players. King of the Hill is where one player skates around with a crown while the other players try to steal the crown by knocking into them. The object is to have the crown the longest and have the crown at the end of the game.

This game should be released some time in March 2002. Keep your eye on this title.

The only thing I cant figure out for the GBA version is how are they gonna use the revert when all 4 main buttons are already used for the main controls (grabs, flips etc...)
Also, the GBA version sounds like its gonna look/be better then the PS version :D *snickers quietly* with actual pedestrians, etc....

No idea! I still think that Nintendo should have made the GBA have 4 face buttons, plus the two shoulders. Oh well, looks like Activision has some experimenting to do!

Wow, I didn't think they could improve over the Second, but this looks even better from the screenshots... and multiplayer madness too, definitely getting this one :)

I can't help but speculate that there might be some major slowdown with 4 people on screen at once. Maybe not though. Looks pretty cool overall.
