Ok, after a few days of thinking... and talking to Crono, I have decided how the power will break down on FFXI. Don't get the wrong idea about this thread, I'm very open to new ideas, but until somthing more resonable comes along this is what we are going with.
Ok, first of all, 2-1-04 is the cut-off date... what do I mean by cut-off date? Simple, if you have access to this forum after that date, and you aren't an active user online (on the same server) you will get suspended from the forum until you do infact buy the game.
Also, if you have no plans to follow the clan, you also will get the boot.
*ahem*
The members of GT right now have a huge advantage as far as jobs go, you will lead sombody unless you don't want to. Here is how the breakdown goes:
(the lower the level the higher the Rank)
Level 1: The leader (Myself). Ok, I'm not going to be some dictating ass of a leader, so get that out your mind ;). In fact, I'm not even going to be known by most of the clan in the game. I will keep my identity hidden and only level 2 guys will know where/who I am.
Level 2: Nation Leaders. There will be the leader of Windurst, the leader of Bastok, and the leader of Sand'ora. Like I said before, these guys have access to me and they can't ever say who I am. There Job is to vote on issues at the world scale (the things nominated to be voted on will be decided by the leader). These guys must recruit 'level 3' guys, and only 3 of them. So for each National Leader, there is 3 under there watch.
Level 3: Area Leaders. These guys are known as the area leaders, they make decisions on events that happen at a national scale. They vote on events that will take place in thier nation (The things nominated to be voted on will be decided by thier Nation leaders). These guys also have to recruit 'Level 4' guys, and they must get 5 of them. So for each Area leader there is 5 under there watch.
Level 4: Average Members (for now). These guys are the lowest thing there is right now. They do not have control over anything really, but they do have thier free will. All they need to do is party up with the clan on adventures, and report any discoveries. In the future when the clan is full and locked down for 2 months, these guys will have the new freedom to make an even lower sub-division... the guys below them will be completly powerless sadly, they will have to be people who just want to join the clique for the hell of it.
So for now:
Level 1: 1 member
Level 2: 3 members
Level 3: 9 members
Level 4: 45 members
Total: 58 members
I think that's more than enough personally, but it also leaves room to grow.
The only requirement every member of the clan will have is that they have to join Gametavern, and post in this forum soming FFXI related once per week. It would be nice if they could post more but eh. :D
There is also another requirement that I'm not completly clear on... they must join the group officially by using link Shells. One thing is... do we want to link as a guild or a clan? I'm thinking about forcing the higher ranked guys to join as a guild to make the job less attractive... but I'm still thinking about that one. (Guilds share Crystals and Exp... so they grow together). For now it will just be a clan... Level 2 and 3 guys will both lead and follow, and level 4 guys will just follow while I just lead.
I doubt we are going to have any level 4 people here right now because um, it would be your choice not to be in the higher ranks of the clan if you chose so.
Now... being Level 1, level 2, and level 3 is all about recruiting. What does that mean? You have the final say in who follows you. I chose the level 2 guys who follow me (but they have to agree to of course), the level 2 guys chose the level 3 guys who follow them and I would have no say in it, and the level 3 guys chose the level 4 guys to follow them without level 2 guys having a say in it. The ONLY requirement is joining and posting at GT.
Why is the system set up this way? (listen closely PC users)
A complete chain can be formed this way... assuming there is no missing links. if a lvl 2 guy gets the game for PC, before even worrying about what everybody else is doing he can recruit some guys from FFXI online who none of us know and get a chain all the way down to level 4 guys. Ps2 users will not even have a disadvantage here because they could become the missing link for the team. Say a level 3 guy is getting the Ps2 game... that means nothing under them starts until tthey get the game. You can also recruit people who haven't played yet from the forum (which I will have to do of course).
This is just building the construct of the clique, not until febuary or march will we have specific clan-assinged tasks.
If you have any questions about this post, feel free to ask... nothing is set in stone it's way too early to do that. Oh, and pleeease make your 'final' decision on which nation you will be from ASAP because if we don't know at least that much, you can't get a job yet.
-EDIT-
Oh, and I make my picks for National leaders Friday if everything stays as is... I already know who I'm going to pick, but it would still be nice to plead your case and maybe change my mind.
-EDIT2-
If you haven't noticed I am no longer allowing a Ps2 user to be level 2. Why? Well, like Rndm said in his post, the guys at lvl 2 have to be powerful... and using the guys with the head start (PC users) would make more sense.
Also, I'm adding some job requirements... right here:
Level 2: Must dedicate at least 15 hours per week to the game, and should be at least in the top 20% of the clan as far as level goes. Also log 10 posts at GT per week. These guys must stay on the cutting edge because they are going to be the elders everybody online looks up to.
Febuary 1st is the start of your official term as leader, and every 3 months we will have a vote to keep you in this position. The vote will be at here Gametavern, and the the people who run against you are your own level 3 men. Whoever has the highest level out of the people under your wing will go one on one with you in a vote. Everybody here can vote after each pleads thier case to why they should remain in that spot.
Level 3: Must dedicate 10 hours per week to the game, and be in the top 50% of the clan as far as level goes. Also post 5 times at GT per week. These guys are the heart of the clan because they will have direct control over more users than anybody.
Just like the level 2 guys, theier term starts Febuary 1st, and every 3 months there will be a vote to determine thier spot... but this is much different from the level 2 vote. Only level 4 and level 3 guys will be able to vote here, and the jump is different. Because 3 level 3 guys will be in each area, and tons of level 4 guys... you can completly jump ship and lead another group. It's a head-up battle, the highest ranked (by power lvl in the game) level 4 member in a one on one battle with the lowest ranked level 3 member (in thier nations). So you could jump from following a group to being a leader of a completly different group.
Level 4: Must dedicate 5 hours per week to the game, and they have no level requirements. They only need post onece per week at GT(getting kicked out of this job would be straight shameful). Like said before, the highest level person here gets to go head up with the lowest ranked level 3 guy in thier area.
If sombody isn't fufulling the duty of thier job, they get a 2 week grace period to redeem themselves, then they get the boot.
You probably wonder why I'm doing this... well, think about it, why be in a clan that isn't competitive? This will make people work harder to keep thier spot..... it's kinda like a football team, you get put in a position, but if you don't do your job you get benched.
I have been thinking about creating a whole seperate website from GT (except for the forum) for our clan. But um, if you have any ideas, spill your guts.
I'll have another update as soon as it's needed. :)
