I have got a copy of Soul Calibur 2 waiting for me at FutureShop right now! I'm gonna go get it. I'll tell you all about it later!

I picked up Soul Caliber 2 yesterday, and i have to say that it is an awsome game. My fav character is Link, then the pirate guy, then kalim, or whatever her name is. Neways, its hardcore action, and the weapons master mode is really cool, lots to unlock, defenitely worth the purchase.

I think it really stinks that they made an exclusive character for each system that you can't get on the other systems. I really wanted to play with Spawn.
spawns rather boring. Played him at the store a couple days ago when i picked up SC2 for PS2,
not to say tho that link and herheshicadodo, are much better. I dont like any of the 3 exclusive characters, none of them really fit in with the game.

I've been playing it a lot today. (I really do have it)
Link is a pretty good character. When you get his megaton hammer it really gets fun.
Kilik is an awesome character too. I'm currently playing through the weapon master mode as link.
Overall it's a kick ass game
Heh, I got to Dylflon's house the same time the game did. Now THAT is killer timing. :p
Yeah, it's a really awesome game. I still don't like the buttonmashing but it's a fun game overall. Very kickass.

buttonmashing is the next best thing to knowing what your doing
but yeah it is a great game

well. dont button mash then. :p a player that knows the moves and knows what he is doing can slaughter a button masher.

You would think ,but somehow in Soul Calibur, a button masher can fluke a win or so.
If you challenge an expert over a few goes, he will kick ur ass

My friends bought the game, so I should get a chance to play it soon. Hopefully this Saturday if I get to come over.
Must play as Link, even if he sucks.

I remember the last time a game was this big and accused of being a button masher was Tekken 3. Egm did a "study" of sorts. They pulled like a dozen people in off the street who had never played video games before and had they take eddy or paul (two of the biger tekken masher characters) and had them go up against the best tekken players in the office. They played ten rounds each and were told to just pound on the controls and not a one of them was able to win more than 2 of 10 matches.

I got spawn. hes ok but necrade(dont know how to spell his name im not looking at it)is cool he has a combination of different charactors moves.

Naw, Kilik has pretty good range. He has a really long stick he hits people with.

just tried that for the first time got 7. but i know i can do better then that. damn Ivy's reach with that damn whip.

My friend played the arcade version and said it was sweet... he said he played conquest mode, but i don't think it's on the console systems... he sayd that yoshimitzu was the best... with the flea hopper trick... funny. before this game came out, i had no idea what that stupid thing was... i thought it was a taunt...

its out for all three systems nintendo has link as a special charactor,x box has spawn,ans playstation has that guy from the tekken series(I forgot his name).all the charactors are pertty cool in there own way. The only thing that would make it better would be fatalitys(mk series rules)
i kinda like what it has.
it gives you a bit of time after the KO to simply kick and punch your enemy, kinda rubbing it in. or do a big grab move which in itself is almost like a fatality.
sometimes i just keep kicking the guy to edge and push him over. :p

Yeah, he's got arrows. It pisses me off because you try to do a soul charge but Link over there is knocking you off. Very annoying.
And of course you wouldn't straight-button mash with this game, and yeah, it is luck sometimes, but it's still the most vulnerable game to it. But it doesn't hinder at all, really.

Well I can tell you that I've challenged many button mashers @ Kof, and they have basically NO chance of beating an expert (like me).
The other day me and my friend teamed up and we got 38 wins in a row (against other experts of course).
And i'm not making that up :D
I bought the game and it completely met my expectations. The fighting is deep as usual with many things to learn from each character. Sometimes the battles get heated up alot and kinda looks like a coreaography (sp?) from a movie. There's so many reversals and stuff. I've always like this 3d fighter best. :burger:
PD: Why the heck did Namco give that Berseker freak seven costumes but left Ivy only with two. And that's not to say that her second costume is lousy as hell. :mad2: :mad:
You might be able to unlock more. Dylflon bought more costumes for other characters like Nightmare and Taki.. I'm sure there's more for Ivy.

Ohh, well! Thanks, I hope they included more for her. Now, unto the next rant. WHY THE HELL DIDN'T THEY MAKE CGI CINEMAS FOR THE ENDINGS? And don't anybody tell me "look at DOA3 and see if they're any good" because SC has what DOA doesn't, and that's a great story line. The game is great, but they didn't improve things that were obvious.

Yea Nemesis. I just bought Ivy's 3rd costume. It's okay. It's certainly better than the one that makes her look like a man. Asteroth's 3rd outfit is so damn cool.

Ahhh, not only did you agreed with me but you also used the same expression I did (Makes her look like a man). Proves that Namco just didn't know what the heck they were doing when they made that costume. Now, I supose I'll stop my ranting before I turn this into a thread about buttocks and how good/realistic the polygons look (And they do look good. Err... I mean... crack's effect is wearing off, time for another dose.)

They probably only made 5 copies out of fear of losing money...
I liked Soul Calibur 1, but PSM says Soul Calibur 2 isn't any better than Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution, which has a much deeper single player mode that will keep you busy for longer than SC2's weapons master thing and only costs 20 bucks... But I have no money anyways and 1 fighting game is enough for me...
But the problem with VF4: Evo is that it gets too damn hard and you might end up with a broken DVD case like me :sneaky:

Try Zellers. Nobody ever looks there for video games. That's where I found Vice City when supposedly there were no copies available.

I got it the day it came out, and have nearly completed weapons master mode, although i still have lots of stuff to unlock.

FINALLY! :mad2: I have it. :D
I wasn't ready to buy it on day 1 and itt sold out in the frist week, so I had to wait 2 weeks... but now it's finally here!
Sweet sweet game! The moves are so incredibly cool! (ok I admit I'm not used to fighting games... they could be crap compared to Tekken or something)
My favorite character at this moment is Taki. Hot babe with cool moves. ^_^
So far I've beated most arcade games on normal and a few on hard. Normal is too easy. :p
Link sucks, he's too hard as an opponent yet a bit too hard for players. :unsure: Perhaps it's just me.

It might be you, because I got used to Link very quickly and when I rented the game, I was pretty good with him.
