I'm sure all the Olympic followers have known about the figureskating pairs controversy, about how the Canadians (Jamie Sale and David Pelltier) should have easily beaten the Russians in their performance, but the judges were in the Russian's favour 5 to 4...

Anyways, yesterday the french judge admitted that there was pressure from both the french judging commitee and the russians to vote for the russians...so they took away her vote, and that made the decision tied, so now the Russians AND Sale and Pelltier have GOLD

I'M SO HAPPY!

WOOOOOOOO

THEY GOT WHAT THEY DESERVED!

Woohoo! What do you know about that, Canadian athletes not getting completely screwed out of what they deserve due to bull**** technicalities :p. Now Sale can come to my house so we can celebrate :stud:.

I'm happy for them. They definitely deserved it. I hope they have some kind of medal ceremony for them.

Yeah! This is such great news. I thought that nothing would have happened because nothing usually comes out of skating controversies, but this is great!

And yes, Sale is the HOT one!

And Ridley, she'll be coming to my house FIRST to celebrate.

Well it's just one of those things you know. I've been waiting for it all week, reminding myself constantly about it and then when it actually comes, I forget about it :D :(. Of course maybe it would have been better if I had of forgot about it. Canada's passing and defense have both sucked terribly in this game :(.

In what?
______________

And the game wasn't as horrible as everyone is saying (on chats, message boards, etc.)

First off, the game doesn't mean ****. Win or lose, we go on.

Secondly, we had horrible luck. One goal dissallowed because of that gay International rule, three posts/crossbars...

Salo was AMAZING... Joseph on the other hand, was quite the opposite.

The way I see it, we get lots of time to make adjustments and work on what we need to now, and we should have a lot more respect for everyone now and not think we're gonna go out their and kill them. We really came on in the third period (Brewer's goal was THAT DAMN GOOD) and with Brodeur in net, things will be different. We'll beat Germany no problem on Sunday, that should be a little confidence booster... Key word there is "little". Ryan Smyth should add a spark to the team too, he might not score as much as Sakic or Karyia, but he has heart and is always doing something out there, something that Canada really needs right now.

Wow, that was funny... If you mean men's hockey. I guarentee you that America won't even get to the Finals in men's hockey.

At least we won our first game...easily too.

You should feel proud.

Like Chris said, it doesn't matter how well or how bad a team does, because they make it to the quarter finals anyways.

Yeah I know, but you talk all this trash, and I'm just pointing out that we looked better on the first night, I'm not saying that it means anything. It does determine who you have to play first though.

Your first game was against Finland, probably the team that will finish last out of the seven strongest hockey nations.

Our first game was against Sweden, a team that is one of the strongest contenders for the Gold.

The goalie you faced was Hurme... He wasn't playing good at all.

The goalie was faced was Salo... He played amazing.

Your oppositions big time players like Selanne didn't play big time.

Our oppositions big time players like Sundin played the best possible game.

Conclusion: None of this **** matters until the quarter finals.

Give me a break, guess what I just found out from my Aunt. She was watching the Olympics on CBC and the Russian ice skating pair wants to challenge Sale and Pelletier to a skate-off to see who the better team is . I hate to break it to them, but we already know :D. Plus I'm sure Sale and Pelletier haven't been practicing since the finals and in light of this, I'm sure the Russians did a little practicing before doing this .
