IGN has updated with new movies from I guess the most recent, but unfinished build of SmackDown: Here comes the Pain.
From the videos, I will say the graphics are much improved from Shut Your Mouth. As for the rest of the game, it really doesn't seem to be changed much from Shut Your mouth. I would say the players don't know how to play, but since this is the 3rd SmackDown game on the Ps2 alone, I find that hard to believe.
The gameplay seems to have changed very little. The location specific damage seems to be little more than borrowed from the limited leg work in SD 4. In one video, you can see Rock hold his head in pain for like 5 seconds, and then he is good to go. It was rare, but in Shut Your Mouth if you worked over someone's leg long enough when they got up they would limp. It seems to expand on that principle, which isn't too bad but I would prefer if they held it during the whole match or something.
The entrances are early or so they claim, but I do hope they fix a problem that has plauged SmackDown since they got full entrances. There is like a part that skips from walking down the ramp to getting to the ring, it just seems to jump from that.
Other than that, the game seems to be SmackDown true and true, which isn't too bad since I enjoyed Shut Your Mouth, but i don't see the changes they promised.
