Daniel Radcliffe as Shinji Ikari? (http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/432/432931p1.html)

There's a rumor around saying that Daniel Radcliffe, the star of Harry Potter, could be chosen to play Shinji Ikari in the live-action adaptation of Neon Genesis Evangelion.

This is a very poor decision. Shinji is of course Japanese while Daniel is British; and by the time they start shooting Evangelion, Daniel will be too old to play the part.

Fortunately, it is just a rumor so hopefully it proves to be a false one.

Live action Gundam has been done. It was bad. Very, very bad.

Although it was of the UC universe, I don't think the AC universe would help much.

Anime should stay anime. It should never be remade into live-action. Ever.

Animé is animated for a reason. Friggen' blockheaded directors don't understand that.

Many are stuck with the missconception that animated series and films are intended to just amuse children or in the instance of Beavis and Butthead or Ren and Stimpy *sp on all titles*... give rude sense of humor to adults, where normal actors wouldn't be funny enough.

Rather, animation can make scenes that technology cannot, express emotions that actors cannot, and portray themes with such beautiful editing that is impossible with live action.

Live action relies on too many variables... and all of them would have to play out to perfection to duplicate the feel of animé. The actors would have to do near impossible bodily expressions, the technology would have to be highly advanced to make up for the imaginary elements of an animé that can be easily drawn, and special elements that add to feel like (art, art!) are lost in day-to-day live action.

Ehh, not to mention the fact that movies are rushed and cannot cover nearly as much as animé series...

At least the movies will make a profit O_o. Though I'll kill a person if an Evangelion movie is made, even though NG:E is probably my favorite series.

Speak of live-action anime, whatever happened to Akira?
