I don't think Sony charges for their online games, check with someone who owns one though :)
no sony doesnt have any extra changes. same as PC games. excpet maybe for the odd ones MMORPG, like everquest.
but no other games like timesplitters cost no more. just plug it into your internet and your ready.
also because sony does this... Games can play against other ppl on other sytems.
like FFX, ppl on PS2 can play with ppl on PC.

As far as I know, Sony or other companies don't charge for online. The main exception so far is Everquest on the PS2.

If you get Socom with the headset, it'll run you about $60 new. The headset is used for issuing orders in the game. And when online, can be used to talk to other people. In the future, more games will use the headset, one coming soon is Socom II. Its $40 (when released) on ebworld.com but I think it doesnt include the headset. If you don't want the headset, Socom will cost onlt $40

There's actually more and more games charging you to play them online...The Sims online, Everquest, Star Wars Galaxies, PSO, thats just a few. Of course, there are still many which dont charge any extra, thank god. It's too bad some of the best online games charge.
its because ppl pay for them.
if no one paid. and bought thoes games. They would get the picture. but ppl do. and for the ones that do it. its because your using thier servers.
games that dont need it are games that dont need to keep memory. like the mmorpg games.
can still play them for free. by finding private run servers. just cant play witht he people that do pay then.

PS2 Online is getting damned close to completely free now (with the exception of a couple MMORPGs). I think I'm gonna pick up the Sony headset when it's released...just to take extra advantage of all of the voice-enabled online games coming out (THANK YOU, EA!)

There is a new MMORPG game on the PS2 being published by Sony and best of all, it's free. By free I mean there's no monthly fee... Duh...
The game is called Champions of Norrath and it looks great.
Here's (http://championsofnorrath.station.sony.com/) the official site.
Also, shouldn't this thread be moved to PS2 Online?

Becaues i type in thoughts, not compete sentences. usually im doing something else at the same time, i have no reason to use good grammer, i have no school and its the internet.
if your talkin about all the periods, usually i use more. only reason i put them there is to break up a thought.
Altho im more curious about someone who actually complains about grammer online. :P
