We were at some touristic place, and I guess we forgot it on a bench. My Dad realised it was missing about an hour later, but it was too late. Somebody had already taken it, and only the case was found in a nearby restroom. My $500 Sony digital camera, a 16 MB and a 128 MB memory stick, plus my Swiss army knife - all gone. Damn I feel so bad.

Well, anyway, I'm not asking anybody to find what I lost. I just want to buy a new one. My Dad feels even worse than me, so I thought it would cheer him up.

I would just like to know if you could recommend a camera. I'm looking for something under $300, maybe I could go up to $350. And it should record mpeg movies. My old one did. *sniff*

But you shouldn't search or do any extra stuff. I'm searching for prices and stuff, but like I said, I just want a recommendation. Thanks in advance to anybody who helps.

BTW, what difference does the MegaPixels make? I have no idea. Is it the quality of the photos?

the more pixels, the higher the resoulution, 1 mega pixel = 1 million pixels. Each pixel is a dot of colour, so the higher the pixel count, the higher amount of dots there are, which means that the resoulution is increased as well

try one of the new Canon Digital ELPH cameras. Those dont get priced too high and they also do movies to. It all depends on how big your memory cards are. You may need to get new memory because this one may nopt use the same one.

Thanks for the info GiMpY-wAnNaBe.

And magus, even if it uses the same memory card, I still have to buy new ones. They were stolen as well.

I would recommend a Sony or Canon.

Don't buy Epson.

Buy Canon or HP.

Perhaps I can give you some info later. :)

Canon powershot a70!!! (http://www.powershot.com/powershot2/a70-60/index.html) It's $299 and man its worth it.

I just purchased one and its on its way. I did some research before i bought it and asked around lots of cam boards. The a70 ownz. You cannot beat the quality to price ratio with any other cam. Sure, it has some cons but once again, for the price it ownz. Had a bit of hard time finding one that would be here in less than a week, cause most places were sold out of it, but the wait is prob worth it (found mine at buy.com). Unless you are some advanced photographer or something, this cam should suit ur needs greatly. yep yep...

Thanks Blade Runner. The a60 looks good. The a70 may be too expensive over here, and there isn't a lot of difference between them. And you're right, it's got everything. But buy.com doesn't ship to Turkey, does it? I couldn't find anything.

And Crash, 400 is to much for me. It would be at least $50 more here.

BTW, what do you think about the Casio Exilim M1? It's $354.

Thanks for the help.
