pretty nice. i like the extra units they put in so far. new NE hero is cool. havnt tried the otehrs yet.

I've only played the Beta, so I'm sure my impressions are out of date now.

It's good to see that massing dryads isn't such a dominant tactic any more. That used to tick me off because it's not the way they're meant to be used, but after a while, that was the only thing Night Elf players did. And it usually worked, too.

This should be pretty fun at the start when people are still figuring things out. During the beta, I used to rip up Orc players who kept trying to mass shamans against me while I was playing Humans. It was great.

My favorite hero is the Shadow Hunter for Orc. One time, I was playing with my roommate as an ally. He was Human and I was Orc. Big Bad Voodoo + Holy Light on the Shaman = destroyed enemies. :D

Serpent Wards are pretty cool, too.

I hope they've balanced out some of the neutral heroes, though. Some of them were completely ridiculous such as the Naga Sea Witch with Forked Lightning.

My one complaint during the beta was that air power got seriously shafted. There's almost no reason to use flying units any more. There are too many commonly used units that can rip them up (spellcasters and ranged units). The point of air units is to attack other air units (especially Frost Wyrms and Chimeras) or ground units that can't hit back, but if the enemy is always going to be able to hit back just be following a normal strategy, what's the point?

dats why for your ground when you make chims. you make the doods that can turn into birds. druids of something i forget the name.


i use chims more as siege more then anything. while ground is attacking enemy, chims swoop in from behind and destroy thier town.

Yes. Thus air units are good to use against chimeras, and they alse happen to be pretty good against frost wyrms which are very slow.

Of course, none of these are quite as good as sorceresses with Polymorph. Man, that spell is fun when you pull it off. :D

Gargoyles are ok, but practically any ground unit at all that can attack air will destroy them. In the original Warcraft III, I often had a dozen each priests and sorceresses fighting massive groups of gargoyles and wiping them all out with maybe one or two casualties. I didn't even polymorph any of them. Heal was good enough.

Of course, the guy I was up against was a fool who couldn't focus fire, but still, gargoyles aren't very useful against ground units. That's what the frost wyrms are for.

The ability to make your own shops is a bit confusing, and maybe a bit too much.

I like the additional hero and units idea, even though I don't know what half of them do ..........yet. Those Orc ones are weird (with the linking ability) but could be good to use if you have many taurens on your team (for tauren summoning).

What the hell do those Night elf flying units do??

I'm gonna play campaign, then battlenet all the way.

So far my fave heroes are Human/Undead/Night Elf. Don't like the Orc one, but maybe I haven't used him properly.

Undead one is so sick!

And those night elf rock dudes are good! So much though.

Love the game right now. The intro kicked ass. Love Blizzard!

warlords battle cry has a better hero system the warcraft 3
the biggest reson warcraft3 in my opinion suked was the limit on the amout of units u can make unlike warcraft 2 in wich you can build a hored of units and swarm your opponet

If you could "SWARM" your opponent with 200+ units it would make the Heroes less useful.

I agree, it's just a totally different play style, and I like it!
If you like massing... well than perhaps this is nog your game.

BTW if you have a huge army (100 is the limit in FT), you can still swarm the enemy because they never have that much. :)

I've lost a few games that I should never have played (1v1, arranged team), but I'm pretty good at team games. 39/33, level 13.
The highest level I got with RoC was 14. After that, I only got to play with ally n00bs, so I went down to 12 again. :(

I'd still like to play with you guys some times, but it's so hard... :(

The new beta patch is now availabe for testing. :) 2 new heroes: Firelord and Goblin Alchemist.
I've been playing with it for a couple of hours and it's cool. The Firelord is a bit overpowerd though.......
I like the Blademaster's windwalk much better now, he can walk through units :D.

Select 'Westfall' as your gateway and download it automaticly. :)

True, the Firelord is currently unfair. Especially when the other team all use Firelords, talk about being newbie-ish. But alas, the Blade Master can still kill them with a couple Wind Walk strikes. :)

Firelord will be weakened for sure.

Alchemist kinda sux. But he's fun. I refuse to use Firelord as he's too powerful.

But Dk + Lich combo kills him pretty quick.

In team it's better to build up like that. In single it's not usually the case to get Taurens.

While WC3 is a good game, i dont own it because even i have standards. But what exactly is so special about the Frozen throne expansion? Why is it such a big deal to get it?

And if you just play the offline mode, Frozen Throne is a continuation of the WarCraft story. So, if you didn't buy Frozen Throne, it would be like only reading Fellowship of the Ring and then just stopping there.

When I play random 3v3, I always use my gold to the max.
When I play 1v1, I forget to spend it... and somehow I can't decide what units to make.

there's a set pattern you should follow to start with (depending on your opponent and map).

But for me against NE when using UD I build Crypt, Zig, Altar, Shop, Zig, while building ghouls and DK (while scouting a ghoul to check ur base). Then creep or harass which ever race u r versing.

Pretty standard.
