Where is Neo? I have no idea. He said upgrade complete, configuring options. Well screw the options, he can fix them later. In the mean time I figured you guys can post. Oh, and if you read this Neo, banning.php is not found. Make sure your upgrade worked correctly.

Umm... few new features, don't know if I want to explain them to you guys, but if I don't you will surely ask later on. Hmm... I'll wait.

And yes, the style is horrible right now. It needs to be gekkofied, and then it will look good. But I'll get to it tomorrow, as will Neo likely, if he comes back on. In the mean time, learn to deal with it, and don't mess anything up. If you want to get off the nasty blue/purple look, and go to a slightly altered default vB look, go change your style to gekko art.

...havent really checked anything yet...but how do you activate quick reply?

The button to the left of quick reply. Understand how threaded view works, and it will make sense to you.

Press the page with the arrow to the left of the normal reply to a post button.

Nevermind, gekko got it.

Well, I don't know how threaded view works. So I guess I'll wait and see. Or maybe this reply to your post will do something.

Anyway, clicking on the page with an arrow button like Bond says only brings up a message saying PostID: 0 (which I take to mean that I haven't chosen which post to reply to. But I don't know how to do that).

And while we're at it, the clickable smileys are all wrong. Although they're different from what I saw last time I posted a reply...do they cycle randomly or something?

The new FAQ should answer most of your questions: http://www.gametavern.net/forums/faq.php?

I would suggest that everyone changes to linear view, which can be found under the last post on each page to the right of "new thread" and "post reply."

The update didn't go perfectly, there are some flaws that I've noticed. I can't do anything because I don't have FTP, or the vB 3 files. You'll have to wait for Neo.

I can change options, but there's many new things yet to be initially setup, and other things from vB 2, like doubloons, which need to be deleted. Again, I'm leaving most of it to Neo.

In the mean time, if you need help, ask, and if you have a problem, post it. That way we can try to go back a fix things later on.

I'll try to mess with the styles tomorrow, make it a little more useable. But can't do much, since I can't upload new images. But still, I'm not the biggest fan of the way some stuff is laid out. Of course, this is the gekko art style only. That way I don't screw around with any plans Neo may have.

I hope this helps with quick reply and quoting:

Err... guess I should help a tad before I go to bed.

Bond's picture is nice. Due to threaded view, you can reply to individual posts, and not a whole thread. That's why you must click the quick reply box. Go to threaded view to see. You must choose the post you are replying to, or click the reply button to reply to the whole thread.

The reply button on the posts quotes someone. Notice the new quote format. I also will be making work for quotes when I get a chance, to save typing.

This vB3 beta is nothing new for me as a another forum I'm had a test forum trying out the vB3 Beta, and the owner was glad it was a test forum as he found to many bugs as the real forum has lots of hacks that may have complicated things.

I hope this helps with quick reply and quoting:
off topic: what Firebird build are you using Bond as the June 15-16 has a "rendering bug" and the June 18-19 has "save image" and "save link" bugs. The June 14 is the most recent build I prefer for windows.

You know I linked this myself from a smilie site awhile back and I see it's now in the smilie list. :constipat:

I'm actually not sure what build this is. I downloaded it on the 18th of June though, so I am asuming that it is the June 14 or later build.

I still don't understand what is wrong with the smilies. The "Standard Smilies" that are shown to the left when you post just rotate. But if you go to "show all smilies" that stays the same.

Just a question, but if I post in 2 or more threads and I go back to the View New Posts and refresh it, it doesn't show the newest posts on top. It shows that I posted in which threads but they stay stationery where they were before when I first opened up the view new posts.

*Edit* Here's an example if any of you are confused.

That's odd because I don't have the problem.

Are you viewing the forums under linear?

I had that problem yesterday when the forum was up while viewing new posts after I had posted, even during refresh but if I click the view new posts button again it is updated in order of time. I'm in Linear as Hybrid is only really useful in long threads more if you like that view.

While in Firebird click on help then about Mozilla Firebird and a screen should show up. this is part of what you should see: 20030621 Mozilla Firebird/0.6, the 621 is the June 21 build in which it seems slower for me for some reason and I can't save images too.

ah yes the May16 so called stable release, I know that one well as it did not work for me very well as it freezed up on me every so often. I have been using nightly's from this link mostly. http://ftp35.newaol.com/pub/firebird/nightly/ ,but the recent nightlies as I mentioned including the June 21 has the save bugs still. The June 14 at least allows me to save image and save link though for the windows version.
