Well, sombody had to post it ;)
as of now, Lakers are down 0-1 to Spurs... and things aren't looking any better.
As some of you may know, Rick Fox was put out for the season with a foot injury in the Minnesota series, and in game one his replacement Devan George went down for the season with a foot injury too!
Not that they are important to any true laker fan
But either way I hope they get destroyed by the Spurs.

I hope that the Spurs win as well... I love Duncan... And Robinson.. Both outstanding players. This will be a good series, though.

0-1, is no big deal to me. More important is how fox is out, his replacement george is out, and now its up to his replacement shaw...Not a good way to start...IF it gets to 3-0, Ill worry.

I agree with Stonecutter.Unless they got the Lakers 3-0 i aint gonna get too excited. The Spurs are boring anyway, but if they put away the Lakers it'll just make it easier for my Kings.

Even if the Lakers are down 3-0, I wouldn't get too excited because these are the Lakers. Remember how they beat Minnesota by 30 after they lost Rick Fox?
Until they are officially eliminated, I don't care.

Hmm, there is a huge difference... when have the Lakers in these three years EVER been down two games to an opponent?
They were down 2-3 to Blazers, and down 2-3 to Sacremento, and down 1-2 to Minnesota... those were thier three hardest series. They have yet to be down two games, and even worse, they haven't even won one game in this series, so they don't know if they can even beat them in one game, let alone 4.
From the begining of this season I have been barking that last year was the end of thier streak.
Spurs are the perfect team to beat them too, they are much deeper, and much more fundementally sound... The difference between these Spurs and the Kings of 2002, Blazers of 2000, and T'Wolves of 2003, is that Spurs are simple deeper and better. Much like the Lakers, they are a well defined team and they know who thier leader is, but at the same time thier leader has WAY more support from the rest of his team than Kobe and Shaq have... They are almost like a version of Sacremento where Webber is the best player in the leauge.
Trying to force another game in San Antonio would be an accomplishment for the Lakers, who have some key injuries and have lost all six meetings between the teams this season. Including the postseason, San Antonio has just eight losses since February 20.

Ah, screw all Laker haters.
Lakers own, just because they're good doesn't mean you have to hate them. They lost 2 of their best forwards. Even if they lose this year (which I am sure they will), I am still happy. 3 years in a row (2000, 2001, 2002) was good enough for me.
Some people just throw bull**** excuses and say they hate the Lakers. If you hate a team, have a good reason, don't just throw out **** like "all Lakers have to depend on is Kobe or Shaq." I am sorry, but that's just wrong. I've been watching and playing basketball for over 12 years now. I hate when I see stuff like this.
PS: I think Spurs are an awesome team, but as for Tim Duncan goes, hell no does he deserve to be MVP again. Kevin Garnet worked his ass off. And if Kobe or Garnet didn't get it, then what about Tracy McGrady? He deserved it more. I am not saying Tim Duncan's not a good player, but there were better players this year.

Who the **** are you to tell people why or why not they shouldn't like a team? I don't think anyone here said anything about hating the Lakers because they depend of Shaq or Kobe anyway... How about hating them for the fact that they're cocky as hell? Some people get sick of seeing the same team and players win every year, but not everyone who hates them hates them because they're good. It seemed like a lot less people hate(ed) the Bulls when they were the best, for a reference in other sports, not as many people hated the Oilers in hockey when they dominated. Maybe the Lakers are just a very hate-able team...

Not to be chicago biased, but with jordan in his prime, it was hard to hate the bulls. They were SO much better than any other team you didn't hate them because there was no chance that they'd lose, only that that would win and that it was going to be fun to watch.

Who the **** am I? I never told them they can't hate a team. I simply said that to hate a team they need to have a good reason. You can't just hate someone or something, there has to be a good reason to hate that person or thing. Get that right.

You don't think...? I know over 50 people who hate the Lakers because they think it's all about Kobe and Shaq. What about Fisher, Horry, George, and Fox? And what's this about the fact about them being cocky as hell? Can you explain why they're cocky as hell? Just because they're good? Just because they won 3 rings in a row? Just because they try like every other team in the league? Yes, so I guess every team in the NBA are as "cocky as hell"...

Yeah. Whatever, like I said, I've watched basketball for a very long time, and through out the years, it was all about the Rockets, Bulls, Celtics, Spurs. I was fine with that. When the Bulls won 3 in a row, and even when they took out the Lakers, I still liked them. When they won 3 in a row, I didn't get sick of it. Jordan was my favorite player but the Lakers still stood as my favorite team.
And there are some people in this world who hate a team for a good reason, I respect that. But hating a team just because they were unstoppable for nearly 3 years isn't a good reason to hate them.

I liked the Bulls, I didn't become a hater just because they whooped Van Exel, Eddie Jones, and the rest of the Lakers back in 95. But yes, Lakers are a very 'hate-able' team and some people dislike them for the most biased reasons ever. That pisses me off. You have to understand that.
Also, when you said "who the **** are you to tell people why they shouldn't like a team", that's pretty stupid, Chris... Because I am not telling anyone who they should like or dislike. This is the Internet, and even if it was real life, I still can't and won't tell people to change their opinions. lol... you want a reason for me disliking the Lakers? well, there are two main reasons:
1) I don't like Phil Jackson, he is the cokiest coach in the NBA and his attitude is rubbing off on his players.
2) Lakers fans are the most ignorant, cocky, uneducated fans on the face of the earth. I live in Cali and I see them and talk to them every day, I want lakers to lose so I can shove it straight up thier asses.
Another reason I don't really like the Lakers is because they use lame excuses to make up for thier regular season preformance... I couldn't stand when LA fans said Lakers didn't have to (aand aren't trying to) work hard in the regular season to win a championship... I think that's either BS on the fans part, or a terrible reflection of the players on the Laker's team if they aren't trying.
Also, the comparisions to the Bulls... that really pissed me off. Bulls worked thier asses off 100+ games per season, and Lakers may have... they are either 1) like I said before, being half assed in the regular season, which is enough to make me hate any team.. or 2) simply not as good... I don't know how Lakers fans can even fix thier mouths to say that LA is better than Jordan's Bulls.
This is why I hate the Lakers, and the only thing I hate more than the Lakers is thier fans. (even though my best friend is a Lakers fan in general I hate them)

Yep, you just gotta love seeing Jack Nicholson and a host of other celebrities showing their faces at courtside. I believe the Staples Center has more luxury suites than anywhere else, yet come playoff time, there's always someone sitting at courtside that just can't stay away from the stupid camera.
By the way, I hated the Bulls so much, I once swore to myself that I would never watch basketball again while MJ was winnig championships.

Exactly what do you mean by "cocky as hell"? Do you mean they have an attitude towards the game? Honestly Chris, look at all the players of the NBA, or just Basketball in general, they all have an attitude. Sometimes having a attitude is part of the game. They all show off, they all act like that during interviews, they all have their own personalities. Jordan was like that, Iverson is like that, and so is Kobe.
My team that I play for along with other schools are all like that. Everytime we play rival schools, people act cocky as hell. It's in the game, remember Rodman? Even if their main concern is to win the game, players also want to play their best to be the best. If you hate them for that, then fine, but almost every player you see in a basketball game acts that way.

I don't watch hockey like you do, but I do see your point. But if you hate the Lakers because of that, then that's fine. Hate them, that's not a bad reason since you want your team to win and the Lakers always beat them.
During the Jordan era, I loved the Bulls. Even if they won Lakers every year, I respected Jordan and the rest of the team. But just like you, I did get a little annoyed since my favorite team (the Lakers) weren't able to win because of the Bulls. But that didn't make me hate the Bulls, it just meant the Lakers weren't that good back then, they had to get better and play harder in order to beat Chicago. That's just me...

Still, I know if you were in my position, and someone told you who the **** you think you are, that's pretty annoying. But whatever, this is sports, if the Lakers always win teams you don't really pay attention to, then that's not a good reason to hate them, but if the Lakers always win your favorite team, then yes, I guess that's a really good reason to hate them.

1) Your first reason, I disagree. As much as you hate Phil Jackson, you have to admit, he is an amazing coach.
2) As for your second reason, you have a very good point. I agree with that. But I am a Laker fan, and when I see some of my friends bash the Lakers and always talk about how "awesome" the 76ers are (I am not saying they're a bad team), it makes me dislike them a bit. Friends and annoying ass fans are probably one of the biggest reasons why some people hate some teams. But that's how it is, if you have been a Lakers fan since birth, then you can't blame the fan for always talking about them and loving them.
The lame excuses is what every fan says... But the Lakers did do bad at the begining of this seasons' starting. I admit, but there are times when some teams care less if they win a small season game against an average team they usually play against. Sometimes even basketball stars can be lazy and not try, and that goes for every team... =/
Oh, and just for the record, I don't think the Lakers are "better" than the old Bulls. I don't even think you can compare the two teams. Over 10 years have passed, and without Jordan and the Bulls, basketball would be quite different than what we are seeing today. Michael Jordan brought basketball to a whole new level.

I don't not like the lakers... It is just that I would like to see another team win this year because I do not think that the Lakers played with heart during the regular season. I really think that they thought it was a joke, but when they realized that they were sucking hard, they starting trying hard. Kobe should have been putting up those 35+ numbers every night... I mean, he can, but I just think that he was too lazy to... I like Kobe and Shaq, don't get me wrong. They are two of the NBA's best players. I just think that they don't want the championship hard enough this year... Unlike San Antonio... Who are playing with lots of heart.

:) I was actually laughing my ass off when Jack bursted out. I like Jack Nicholson as an actor, pretty funny guy. But hell, I don't blame him, everyone gets pissed off at NBA games. I mean, don't you feel the same way when your team is losing? I admit, Jack Nicholson went nuts, but it got the crowd going and made things more interesting.
And Joeiss, I admit, if San Antonio wins this year, they deserve it. They worked their asses off. But the Lakers have won 3 in a row, and just like Derek Fisher said in last night's interview, they are trying to win another ring for a 4-peat, but the Lakers aren't being lazy and not playing with heart, it's just that the teams this year are much better than what they were last year.

I think that it is quite obvious that he does not have a clue about the rules of basketball. He always gets so upset when the ref calls a foul, and it is the right decision, but he is so ignorant and blinded that he automatically jumps up and goes crazy if the Lakers get a foul called on them.

That white guy was Mark Madsen. Known as "Maddog".... yeah...
Also, Jack Nicholson is a true Lakers fan. He has been to more Laker games than anyone else. And he has been going for very a very long time also, even before I was born. But it was a suprise to see Slava Medvedengo to actually score 13 points. I say they should bring him in more often rather than Mark Madsen. And Parker was on fire yesterday for the Spurs.

If I was on the team I would have probably cried the same way that everyone was.
Oh, well. The movie stars have been eliminated and I suppose that this is the end of the 2 man team era in the NBA.
I now like the Kings to win it all.

They will probably be back next year. This loss wont make them a bad team. Only if one of them leaves...
Horry releates loosing this game to his grandmother's passing away.

Karl Malone was supposed to be signing with the Lakers... now that they lost this is more likely to happen

If he signs with the Lakers, then I would love to see the Lakers win next year... But if not, then they can keep on losing for all I care.
It was a pretty good game for 3 quarters. It was pretty close, but Lakers just didn't have the passion, IMO.
