Well, I don't know what anyone else thinks of this little gimmick, but I got to say, it came off very funny in a cheesy way, I like how they are working so far. Anyhow here is the WWE's profile of this mysterious newcomer.

Little is known about this mysterious Superstar, Mr. America. There’s no telling what’s underneath that mask. Maybe he’s bald ... you know, like a bald eagle.
He sports a physique as chiseled as Mt. Rushmore, leading many fans to conclude that he never neglects to train and take his vitamins. Being that he's a true American hero, he no doubt says his prayers and believes in himself as well.

Coming to the ring to "Real American," the song, of course, that was also the theme for ... Pat Patterson and Gerry Brisco, Mr. America is an overwhelming fan favorite. One thing’s for sure: His American-maniacs are always in full force, from sea to shining sea, brother.

His stats:

Height: Nearly 7 feet
Weight: Unknown
From: America
Favorite Quote: "What'cha gonna do when the 24-inch patriots run wild on you?"
Finishing Move: Unknown

Cept for that moment, that was a pretty weak SD imo.

Didn't Smackdown get cut off by Bush's address?

Well, only about 20 mins or so of the show was cut off by Bush's speech, anything from the middle of the Benoit/Rhyno vs FBI match till the end of the Team Angle/Los Guerroros segment was not shown here, but we got to see everything else.

I thought the Mr. America thing was well done, hopefully they can keep it up.

Heheh, and the one thing I didn't like on SD was the whole Mr. America segment. Well I didn't like EVERYTHING else, but still...

Well I thought it was funny... but then again I don't think it was supposed to be funny...

I thought it was funny because I was hyped up for it all week... I'm upset it was at the end of the show, because right after that segment I would have changed the channel. Smackdown without Angle just isn't working.

Well let's put it this way, if Mr. America wasn't supposed to be funny then the WWE thinks it got some stupid fans.
