The Mighty Ducks are undefeated in the playoffs still. That's cool, I always like an underdog to do well. And the Devils shut out Lightning, but this is only the first game, anything can still happen.

Well...I had a feeling that Ottawa would be way too fast. The only reason the Flyers scored two goals was because the Senators waited so long that they had to get back up to pace. I hope the Flyers play a little better in the next game, but I won't be pissed if they lose, because Ottawa is just a great team, better than the Flyers.

nWoCHRISnWo
04-25-2003, 11:26 PM
Yeah, the Senators are damn good. I bet that series will be awesome, Philly is one of the very few (along with New Jersey IMO) teams that have a chance at beating Ottawa in the East.

Anahiem taking into FIVE overtimes, being outshot, outhit, bla bla bla same as their first game in Detroit, and once again they win. They should have won in regulation but didn't because of that bull**** Arnott goal off the waived-off icing, they should have won in third OT but didn't because the right post was like half a centimetre out, which I think happened AFTER the puck went in anyways and even if it did come out before, it in no way had any effect on whether it would have been a goal or not, but they won it anyway. Wooo! I hope Ducks sweep the Stars too.

And go Vancouver! They're down 1-0 right now to Minny, I think this could be another long series. I believe I did say "Minnesota will suprise a lot of people" in my prediction for round one (of course, I predicted they'd lose to the Avs though :) ).

Canucks just scored. 1-1

nWoCHRISnWo
04-26-2003, 12:22 AM
Sweet move by Bertuzzi, but no-goal. That was VERY close, when the puck was rolling it looked like it was completely over the line at one point to me, but ah well. Go Canucks!

Seth
04-26-2003, 01:40 AM
Damn, the puck was over the line. Oh well, posting this just after Klatt's OT goal. Great game. I'm not worried about the Canucks performance really. They outplayed the wild. Just some bad breaks.

hurra.:D

well. after they explained it enough.

thier reasoning for the rule DOES make sence.

your right it prolly wouldnt of affected this goal.

but i was thinking the rule was for incase the puck slides under. had to think about it for a sec because the top bar would also go up. and they cant determine with complete certainty that that puck wouldnt of hit the top bar if the net had been down all the way.

but they won anyway so its all good. good things come to thoes who are patient

ZebraRampage

First it was the Angels in baseball, and they were a wildcard team so they weren't expected to go far. Now it's the Mighty Ducks, they are ranked 7th, so they weren't favored either. This was all very unexpected.

nWoCHRISnWo
04-27-2003, 02:55 AM
Damn I love the Mighty Ducks. I hope the embarass Dallas. SWEEEEEEEP is coming, I can feel it. It's gonna be awesome to have Colorado, Dallas, and Detroit all out in the third round hopefully.

wooooo GO WILD!!! shoulda won Game 1 also. but hey, thats the way the puck bounces. hehe.

Dissapointed in the vancouver fans at the end tho. throwing soda and thigns onto the ice. Very Unclassy...... or as the Announcer on ESPN said.... 'Idiotic'
i expect that from colorado fans. but expected vancouver fans to be above that.

good game tho. hopfully the wild can give another good showing at home for thier home fans. GOOOO WILD!

and ducks... lol. man, they working thier ass's off. gotta hand it to em there. thats where the Wings lacked this year. they didnt want to fight for it. Ducks fighting every inch of the way. i'll be surprised if they win the next 2 tho. i think Dallas will find a way to win game 3

yes, but them were the rules in the first post. and have been that for the past few years that we been doing this.....

i didnt give dragonfly any points in first round.
id have to go back and change it for his points too.

:(

Altho bro, you can make it up in finals. tis a betting round. heh. you can bet any points you earn thus far.

perhaps i should start working out just a penalty for however many days late. like a deduction of points and not a total 0 for the round.

Yes, give them halvsies or something.

Null

[EDIT]

since is not entirly fair to everyone if ppl that post late get full points. because after one day they would have a slighttt advantage of knowing the losing team wont sweep the other at least...

So..

after 1 game............ 75%

after 2 games.......... 50%

after 3 games........... 25%

4 or more... None.

So dragonfly gets 3 pts now.

(sorry for the edit. i thought about it and think this one makes more sence. ;) )

nWoCHRISnWo
04-29-2003, 05:34 PM
I'd have just given them the points anyways, we need as many people as possible to make it competitive. As long as they get some points for being late it's good though...

And back to hockey now, **** Dallas! I hate them. Ruining Anahiem's streak... Now they can get eliminated right in Dallas, that would make my YEAR.

Null
04-29-2003, 06:16 PM
ah. But as i predicted Stars would win that one..

I also predict the fall of the Ducks will follow.

Ahhhh A Western Confrence Final without Dallas, Detroit, or Colorado.

hell has frozen over....
The world has been turned around.
Black is white, Up is Down.

Strange stuff goin down i tell ya.

Cant believe that stupid goal lifted an inch but doenst matter to whether the puck got in but still counts as no goal Rule happened twice in that series. insane.

strong game by the ducks tho to take lead after giiving up tying goal.

Joeiss
05-07-2003, 03:43 PM
I know... I just simply don't like Hatcher, lol.

Seth

I hate hatcher, and the dallas franchise. I'll never be able to understand how Hatcher is the captain of an NHL team.

Stonecutter
05-07-2003, 07:36 PM
PFFT you think YOU hate Hatcher?

I STILL think Hatchman's hit on Roenick cost the Blackhawks the Cup in 95'. That team lost to the wings in 5 in the west finals but all they needed was one more goalscorer in that series.

Look at this.

Game one

Wings 2
Hawks 1
OT

Game two

Wings 3
Hawks 2

Game three

Wings 4
Hawks 3
2OT

Game four

Hawks 5
Wings 2

Game five

Wings 2
Hawks 1
2OT

4 losses by 4 goals!

Give us Roenick back and lets see what happens.

Goddamnit, I was in a good mood too.

nWoCHRISnWo
05-07-2003, 08:38 PM

in a battle of skill vs cockyness? bleh. dont care who comes out of the east.

OHHHHH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WILD WIN! WILD WIN!!!!

now you get to hear my little rant. :)

IN YOUR )#*%#)% FACE YOU COCKY ASS BERTUZZI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

omg i hate him so much. to be so damn cocky as to tell the Minnesota fans after game 4 to not buy tickets to game 6 because there wont be one.. i can not explain how angry the guy makes me. put together with all his cheap shots on the ice.

then even the Vancouver fans, after game 4 were looking beyond the wild, saying it was over already. even people here at GT talking about confrence finals before this series was over with. NEVER OVERLOOK THE SERIES YOUR IN!

Hats off to the wild. KEEP THE DREAM ALIVE!!!! only team in history to fight back from being down 3-1 twice in a playoff year. they fight so hard. they deserved to of won this 6 games to 1 they way they played. i can not describe how happy i am.

GO WILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nWoCHRISnWo
05-09-2003, 01:12 AM
Allow me to predict that you aren't as happy about Anaheim's success. ;) Nobody in a million years would have guessed that the Western Finals would be Minnesota vs Mighty Ducks?

Null
05-09-2003, 01:16 AM
well. i wouldnt of been as happy about anahiems seccess after round 1... obviously. but i am happy they beat Dallas. lol so mixed feelings there. altho after round one seeing what teams were left. deep down i really wanted to see a anaheim minny conf finals. hehehe

and its insane that it ends up with these to teams. and funny as hell that Minny gets home ice in it. lol.

i'd expect this type of thing out of the East. never the west.

Dal Det or Col are always in Conf finals for west. weird seeing palyoffs without all of them.

Seth
05-09-2003, 01:46 AM
What can I say, Minnesota just outplayed the nucks throughout the series.

Van had way more shots on net but it seemed that even though Minny had fewer scoring chances they were much better chances. The nucks D never covered the last man in throughout the whole series. I saw this outcome when van was up 3-1 in the series. All the games were too close. It could have been anyone's series.

Onto dan cloutier.

ahem. I've stuck with this guy for 2 seasons now, but he just hasn't proved he can deliver in the playoffs. Look at all the teams that have advanced to their conference finals. Giguere....Roloson....Brodeur....They've packed their teams through the playoffs. Cloutier is good, but he isn't awesome. Van has the most potent offense in the league but they can't perform out there with confidence if they're worried about their netminder the whole game.

Tonight's game was a bitch. Minny's first goal was chance. It was a good one but still really lucky. The second one was a bad read by clouts...bounced off the skate. 3rd goal was the ****. That's a shot that is a general stop for any goalie. His angle was way off. Fourth was bad also.

Oh well, I honestly don't think Burke is going to trade cloutier in the off season. Good goalies come at a hefty price. There's a lot of pressure for the glass to be upgraded at GM Place. We'll see.

Oh and the Bertuzzi thing. Bertuzzi's game isn't anymore dirty than the rest of the guys out there. He's a big guy who can through his weight around. That's his play. No other forward in the league has his ability. The guy's a beast out there but his stick handling is up there with the snipers. Don't pick on Bert like that. That's how he plays and it's effective. The last penalty tonight was ****ed up. Bert came in on his check with the normal amount of shove that he should do. The guy just fell forward. Refs didn't signal a penalty until Ronning(god bless his little heart) gave them an earfull over Roloson's gimped body.

**** it all. There's next season. I like the wild. They're my second favorite team. I would've liked to see van go on but that's the way she goes. I'd like to see Paul Kariya get a cup. But, i'd rather have minnesota go to the finals. In the end i hope Ottawa gets the cup. bleh.

doesnt matter how much shove he gave him. That was blatent interference by bertuzzi, he gets away with it so often. i was about to flip out when i thought there wasnt a call on him. that was SO the right call.

Watching the game this morning(4:30 replay on espn2) I believe the reason they won was because that Dupuis goal was just too shocking. The crowd would not shut up and goal was so quick that the light never even came on.
Bertuzzi's interference ended the game officially to me. It was just over in my mind.

I think this may be a shifting in phases out West. Perhaps the Avs, Red Wings, and Stars won't be so much better than everyone else for much longer.

nWoCHRISnWo
05-09-2003, 08:48 PM
Unless there's a strike coming up, then I'd still think that Colorado, Detroit, and Dallas will still be among the top teams in the West for a few years to come yet. Anaheim will probably make it to the play-offs regularly now, and Minnesota isn't like Carolina where it's a huge suprise. They actually have a very good team, coach, young players, system... They'll probably be one of the top teams for the next years.

And about Bertuzzi, I don't care about that specific call, but I think people are way too hard on him. He takes so much that isn't called (every notice how many times he gets high-sticked and it's not called? More than twice as much as any other player), so don't forget about that either.

Null
05-09-2003, 08:51 PM
its not how bertuzzi plays. he's one of thoes players thats hated around the league, but one you would love to have on your team. there are many players like that.

And i had no prob with him. untill he starts showing his arrogence and cockness and runs his mouth all the time. Its his attitude i dont like. not his play on the ice.

Seth
05-09-2003, 10:09 PM
How do you know what Bert's like in the dressing room?

And it's only a show. Pissing off the opposite team's fans is just part of the game.

It's funny how you didn't have your little Bertuzzi rant until the canucks were out of the running.

If Bert was in Detroit you'd think he was a god. He gets the most bull**** around the league. No one can keep up with him so he's slashed and hacked and interfered with.

Speaking of asshole players...Chelios:rolleyes:

What a baby whiner.

Null
05-09-2003, 10:36 PM
you need to read more carefully befire you take things so personnally. as i said. he's hated around the league. and for good reason. but he's one of thoes players even tho you hate you'd want to have him on your team

And of course i dont have my rant untill thier out. duh. I dont take a series for grantant and go off about something untill its OVER. i dont claim a series is over and forget about it and talk about confrence finals before the current series is done *cough cough*

im a hockey fan. aka supersticious.

And i dont care what he's like in dressing room.

point in case, as i stated above, he goes on TV and tells Minny fans not to buy tickets to game 6 cuz it wont happen.

That goes far beyond making fans dislike you. thats showing a very cocky arrogent attitude.

perhaps if he just said 'were going to win' i could accept it a tad more. (altho still cocky, not as arrogent) what he did was shove it in a teams face while they're down. and it came back and bit him in the ass too.

And if he was on my team i'd be happy. honestly tho man. God? with the players detroit has? hardly. tho yes, he's one of thoes players that you hate but would love to have on your team.

wont even touch on the chelios issue because your basically just trying to do something to get at me cuz i dont like a vancouver player *shrug* i never liked cheli when he was on chicago. he's one of thoes players too.
