Guys, my mom said i can buy a mp3 player for 100-200 dollars. I was wondering what is the best type of music device (portable). Mp3 player, mini disc, cd-mp3 player, or just cd player??i thought it was mp3 but i dunno

I also need help on what brand is the best and what your pick would be. remember NO iPODS ( not enough cash), anything else is game though.thanks!

iPods! wait....damn. ummm...the second thing that came to my mind was Rio MP3 players. But I'm not the most knowledgeable person on MP3 players and which are good/bad. I like to look for size and cost when buying an MP3 player.

My favourite one isn't that cheap. =\

Why don't you ask the manager?

I'd get a CD player and just make your own CDs via your computer. Almost all new CD players can read and play the MP3 format. The future of MP3's is questionable as to how much longer we'll be able to download for free. With a CD player even if you can't make your own CDs for free anymore you'll still be able to buy CDs at the store. Go with a Sony or Aiwa, they're the top picks in Consumer Reports.

Get one of those SONY MD Players... I think they are good.

I would have suggested that but you ruled it out in your first post. If you have the option of saving up for a more expensive one, definatley get an iPod. I have one and so does gekko if you have any questions about them.

I would go with saving up for something even better if it is an option.

Yes, MD = Minidisc.

If you can't wait that long to save up for an iPod, go for an MD player. They're small, and you could copy anything to MD'S (like CD's, songs on your PC, etc).

They look pretty slick aswel.

Might I suggest the new iPod that debuted since I last posted in this topic, the cheapest one is now $300 for 10G. Check out the page iPod (http://www.apple.com/ipod/).

Ive got a cheapo RaveMP 64MB which I can add more storage space to it via a compact flash card. So really I could store as much as the biggest Compact Flash card, which I think is 256MB. But ive never needed to go over the 64MB that are allready in it. Im a casual MP3er.
