Just when you think you reach the bottom of the well for weird enws, something new pops (er is that a good word to use?) up.
SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash) -- Folks whose idea of a telethon is Jerry Lewis sweating in a tuxedo will blush redder than a beet when they hear about an upcoming marathon fundraiser in San Francisco.
Dozens of men and women are expected to strip down and participate in the so-called Masturbate-A-Thon, which will be broadcast live on the internet May 2.
Participants make money for each minute they spend pleasuring themselves, with proceeds going toward a new non-profit group called The Center for Sex & Culture.
While the women tend to last longer and make more money for their orgasms, organizer Carol Queen says she will be "encouraging the guys to take it slow, since this IS for charity."
Although the wank-filled webcast sounds like its just about titillation, there is a serious side: Queen says she's hoping to remove some of the stigma of masturbation and expose it for the natural, unshameful thing it really is.

Er it's a unique idea, but sick as hell, I mean that seems so wrong...
