*This thread WILL have spoilers, so here is your warning!*
-GameKinG
I'm already having trouble solving the puzzles of Wind Waker, and I'm sure there are other people here that are too. So, if a moderator could sticky this thread, we could make this the place to come to ask questions and answer them.
Here's my question:
The Pirate fired me into the fortress. I lost my sword when I hit the wall. I beat all the guys who run the search lights. Now:
1. How do I get my sword?
2. How do I get to my sister in the window with all the seagulls?
Thank you! :)
DarkMaster

The Fortress goes around sorta like a cricle. there are 3 (I think it's 3) outside parts that are like hallways. Each of these has a balcony of which when you go on it, the camera will look at something important. One of the balconies shows a stairway that leads up the main tower. Go up there and you shall receive your sword as well as find your sister
and also, considering there are still people who do not have the game, I think one of the mods should put a spoiler warning in the topic title.

Er, well to get your sword is basically the same way of hiding your sister, you have to make it to the very top of the Fotress, there will be a short cutscene which shows where your sword is, and then you go into a room where your sister is.

Thanks guys. http://www.gametavern.net/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif
Go ahead and put a spoiler warning if you think it's necessary. I thought the title was pretty self explanatory as to there would be discussion of the game but maybe that's just me.
Anyone know where I can increase my magic (for the leaf)?
I've gotten upgrades for everything else except that. And I'm assuming I can somewhere.

have you tried the Southern or Western fairy islands? one of them might give you an upgrade

Here's my question. *SPOILERS*
I'm at the point to where I'm supposed to find a way to enter the former temples back in OoT. I'm starting with I believe the forest temple, basically the wind blowing so I can't get in. I can't find the "metal boots", or whatever metal I need to not get blown away by the wind. I'm at the island the fish have told me to go. The Mother and Child Island, but I can't get into the BIG mountain/hill thing. So, how do I get to it/get the metal thing. And, if I need something to control the cyclone next to me, where do I go to get the thing needed to control it (or what thing is needed to control it)?

Metal boots are in an island that is frozen with a dragon's head.
To control the cyclone get sucked into one and shoot at the pink guy at the top with your arrow. Three shots will do it.
And I've looked in all the fairy islands to increase my magic... :(

Yea you cant blow up that rock...If you try lifting it it will tell you that you dont currently have the power to move it...Just ignore it for now and go have a word with your boat...he should tell you what to do next. Also, you should heal your Grandma with a fariy.

There's a Big Octo somewhere that when you defeat it, a fairy will come out and double your magic. I don't remember which square it was that I found it... Just keep looking for flocks of seagulls. That means there's a Big Octo around there. Keep killing Big Octo's until you find the fairy.

Well, I follow the flocks of seagulls and I keep on following them, and then eventually they lead me off of the square that I'm on and disappear.
Is the upgrade necessary though? I'm getting rather tired of looking...
Ginkasa
03-30-2003, 07:10 PM
You don't need to follow each and every seagull. If you see a bunch of sea gulls flying around the same place over the ocean, then there should be a Big Octo there.
But the upgrade isn't necessary to beat the game. There's a little mini-game that you can't beat if you don't have it (the Rito Flying Man contest), but you can beat the game without.

Beat the Octo at Two-eye Reef. It's the island that is exactly in the
middle on the bottom row of the sea chart. The Octo is a bit south of the
island.

Two questions:
Does anyone know where to find the Shop Guru Statue?
Do you have to trade with all three of the traders on Bomb, Greatfish,
and Mother & Child islands, or not. I've traded town flowers to all three
but all I've gotten is a sea flower. It looks like there is room for something
else on the shopkeeper's shelf.

I have another question:
I've water the wilted bomb plants. Destroyed the giant rock that plugs up the pond. Knocked down those two statues to cross the lava and entered that little shrine. Now what do I do?

I have one, how do you find the 7 deku kids when trying to get the first Triforce piece?
Ginkasa
04-02-2003, 04:47 PM
7 Deku Kids? You mean the tree thing? You don't have to do that, that's a sidequest. But if you want to do it, you'll first want to find all of the islands that have a Korog (a Deku Kid) and a tree. You'll want to mark it somehow. Then do to Forest Haven and get some water from inside of it. Then go to each of the islands that have a Korog and water the tree within 20 minutes.

HIOOO!
I beat the first boss dude and made valoo happy. That was last night. I'll play more when I get home from school. So far, I'm loving wind waker....much more than OOT. WW just has more atmosphere and feeling to it. OOT was limited by the N64. Oh, and i've had to ask a 3 times at a forum for help. I'm not used to the Zelda type puzzle solving. This is sweet.

that boss was terribly easy. But, I won't make fun, different people have different challenges.
Just cut its vine things that attaches it to the ceiling, and when it falls to the ground and opens up, go in and attack the center with your sword. Just be cautious and there's really nothing to worry about.

I need help....I'm in the Tower of Gods.....and I've been there for a couple of days. I was on the first floor and there is a room in the upper right hand corner and it has one of those flying skull dudes that has flames around it......well I killed him and I got a chest.....but I noticed on the map that there is a chest behind the wall. There is a big eye on the wall and I know that I have to do something to it because link's eyes are looking at the eye on the wall.....but I've tried everything and nothing is working and it is driving me crazy. I went to the second floor and got the command song.....but I sort of cheated to get it because I used one of tingle's balloons to let me float in the air for 5 seconds so I could bring that statue across that gap and when I brought him back to the main room he gave me the command song........if you use the GBA you can use stuff that tingle has such as his bombs and his balloons. Anyway I just don't know what to do about those giant eyes. Just give me a hint.

This game is pretty easy... I have yet to just be stomped in a puzzle. OoT is much harder imo (maybe because I was much younger when I played it, but eh, it was harder at the time)
I haven't played for a few days now, I have all but one peice of the Triforce of courage, and I haven't enterd the two "final" temples yet.
Ginkasa
04-04-2003, 04:04 PM
You shoot the giant eyes with your arrows.

ZebraRampage
04-04-2003, 04:28 PM
So I guess that means that I need a bow........I already knew that you shoot eyes with a bow......but since I don't have the bow, I just thought there was another way to do it......
Mushlafa
04-04-2003, 08:17 PM
NO you need to get a bow .. i cant remember where to get it... the plant boss was the easiest so far for me... only 2 boomerangs to cut the vines off the roof if you make it attack the right ones... no offense or anything bouncer but if you needed help 3 times already and you just beat valoo.. then.. i dunno.. thats pretty bad, but ive beaten OoT like 5 times and the puzzles are kinda similar...
Zebra you dont need to use tingle to help you float over.. basically if i remember corectly... you learn the command song... then you stand on that thing that makes the path appear .. then you use the command song to be come the statue and walk across.. then you go back to link and you flat across the gap with your deku leaf and you go back into that room and then into the next 3 roomes are all kind of similar like that but the puzzles are a bit harder because you already know how to do it...
Im in the earth temple and i just got the special item that you get in there.. i guess i wont say what it is.. ive been there for like 2 days cuz i havent had time to play... the storys really unfolded now and i dont think theres many more twists in the story line from this point on... i think its a really good game and i dont find it that short....
Collecting the triforce peices looks like it may be a bit annoying tho...
The only part ive really been stuck at is right before the earth temple.. didnt know what to do to get inside but i figured it out just aimlessly sailing and warping around... :)
GameMaster

I can float upon the water or be filled with it, who am I?
What's the answer, I need to get into the Pirate Ship on Windfall island?
DarkMaster
04-04-2003, 09:13 PM
Shooner is the password for that question, I suggest you go sneak into the back of the bomb shop to watch the little cinematic though, they say the password there
Mushlafa
04-04-2003, 09:44 PM
actually the passwords are random.. mine was plankton.. if you wanna know what to do you get up really high and face the bomb shop.. then you make the wind blow that way.. you jump off and you glide around tot he back and land on a ledge and crawl through a hole in the back... that actually took me a long time to figure out
Ginkasa
04-04-2003, 10:36 PM
Actually, to get to the back of the bomb shop like you're supposed to, you have sidle along a little edge at the side to the back. Took me however long it takes to read the message from the walking guy in green ;)
Anyway, you sneak in the back and watch the little cinematic where it says the answer. Then go to the ship.
Mine was Barncale.

but if you go around back theres no crack to crawl through.. its like on the second floor sorta isnt it? :???: whatever... Im somewhat stuck right now but i dont want anyone to tell me what to do... i jus beat the earth temple... i figure cuz i had to destroy a fire thing to get into that temple im gonna need to melt something cold to get into the next temple.. but thats just pure guessing... now if only someone around town could give me a clue

Ok lol I just figured out what I was doing wrong and I feel so stupid because I didn't realize that you're supposed to call all the statues, I just thought that you were supposed call the first one, and then the second two you had to command. But with the second two you have to call them first and then command them. Stupid me, well I'm almost done with the Tower of Gods. Thanks lol

I'm getting used to it though...like, i'm looking for things and stuff that i wasn't when i first started. I beat the game the hardest way possible (with only the white sword) without even knowing it- next thing I know I'm playing the second quest, which was even worse.
Right now I'm tidying up the rest of Wind Waker, looking for my last heart piece, last bottle, and more Nintendo Gallery Membership stuffs.

Ok I'm stuck again, and I have been stuck for a couple of days. I'm at the part where you have to go to those two mountains to get into specific places in hyrule, and one of the places has a big rock blocking it, and the other one is blowing wind. Well I figured that I had to get special items in order to get to the places and I know that you can't lift the rock, but I was thinking, maybe I need special gaunlets like in previous zelda games, and well maybe I need iron boots to walk into the wind because I remember in the shadow temple you had to do that. Well I've looked at almost every island, but I don't know where to go. I've gotten a lot of crap though which is cool, but I still have no clue what the hell I'm supposed to do. Could someone just tell me where I'm supposed to go, but don't tell me what to do, I think I'll be able to figure it out by myself.

Ok your right on... first of all... You need to find one of those giant cyclones with that god ontop of it and you need to get close enough to it so that it kinda pulls you in a circle around it then shoot the cloud on top of it.. and then you learn that song so that you can warp all over the place.. next you have to warp to one of the top left ones and it takes you to mother and child isle.. and you meet the fairy queen there and she enchants your bow with fire and ice... after that... you have to look for a fire mountan place and you have to shoot the fire on top with an ice arrow and go inside and get your gauntlets... then you can lift the giant rock after that temple your gonna have to look for an ice island and shoot the ice shootin out of it with a fire arrow and go inside and get your iron boots
Just a side note.. love links facial expressions .. like when he has his iron boots on.. he looks so feirce :p

Im looking for the triforce shards, and i just had the worst experience ever. I was on outset island and i decided to go into the neverending stages and get the triphorce chart. After i went through the first like 30 levels i finally got it, then i noticed a light, and a rock that could be destroyed, so i destroyed it and then went on through the tunnels. My friend told me that if you keep going you eventually find a heart peice, but it is tough. I journeyed through the seemingly endless enemies, and finally after like over an hour at least came to a room with a few flying guys and 4 super darknuts. I battled through and killed the flying guys and managed to get the helmets off the group of darknuts. Then the unimaginable happened...i died! It pissed me off something fierce because after all that time i died. o god...what a piss off lol.

I'm in the Tower of the Gods. There's this one room which has two doors. The room is square shaped with four sides to it. There's a door on two of the four sides. There is hardly any floor, most of the room is a bottomless pit. Flying over the pit are two weird hovering skulls. The door I came through into this room is where I stand. There are statues on both sides of this door. Then there is a another door with a gate blocking entrance into it. Then the other side directly across from me over the giant bottomless pit has a button to stand on and when you stand on it, it opens that other door with the gate. Then above this pit is this weird gold colored thing with three legs, like chair legs that Link stares at. What do I do in this room?
GamingWorldJoe

There should be 3 doors in that room, counting the one you came in. Go into the one opposite the one you came through; don't worry about that switch for now. You deal with it later.
That gold colored thing in the air is a grapple-hook point.

Do you know about Lenzo the photographer in Windfall Island? He gives you this camera and you can even get a color camera from him after you finish a task for him. Then, you can use the color camera to take pictures of people and monsters, and take the photo shots to this guy who you'll find somewhere in Forest Haven. He takes the phots from you and makes figurines out of whoever's in the photo.

Yeah, he did remind me of Andross of Star Fox 64...
Ok, well, you begin the fight, it's very easy to be honest. Get your arrows out and shoot his arms first, after that, and take out his eyes... You have to take his eyes out quickly or his hands will heal.
Hit each thing twice and it goes down, whatever you do, don't fall in the electrical pit. When he's been shot, he will go down and open his mouth, quickly toss a bomb inside his mouth and you will hurt him pretty bad. Repeat this 3 times and he will die. It's very easy.

i noticed the andross similarity too...it made me grin more than it made me angry...
and the rest of the bosses are cool enough to make up for it
(besides the ghost boss in the earth temple...he just seemed kinda boring)
the story alone just impressed the hell out of me, it was so much more than i expected form a zelda game...i think ww is my favorite zelda game of them all, just cuz of the first surprise momeny you get after getting the three pearls, and the final battle:D

Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know.
Its not a woman...When they say you have to catch him in the act, they mean you have to catch him actually MAILING the letter(putting it in a postbox) Hopefully that will help without me upright telling you.
WW had a lot of surprises. I thought I had allready spoiled most of the story for me, but as it turned out there were quite a few things I wasnt expecting...I think my favorite part might have been after you collect all 8 triforce shards, and Link's triforce lights up on his hand...and they play that Remixed zelda music that sounds like the music they played on the Title screen on the Origional zelda...that was awsome...anyone know where we can download the songs off of Wind Waker? Ive been able to find some on Kazaa, but some I cant find(like the song the forest sage plays)

The ghost ship chart is on an Island somewhere in the lower left section of the overworld. I cant remember where exactly. I dont feel like checking...go check gamefaqs.

My friend had so much trouble with the Ghost Ship. But I had no problem. At first, I thought I was just a lot better than him (which I probably am), but I found out that it was because I had the Magic Armor and he didn't...

No, I mean the magic armor. It takes up a lot of magic, so you should probably have the magic upgrade before you get it.
Spoiler:
You get the magic armor after trading flowers a few times (guy on Greatfish Island and one of the other ones I can't remember). It's an item you set to a button and it envelopes you in a purple glow (while sucking down your magic power). While it is activated you are pretty much invincible and those floor trapper things (the purple hands that take you to the beginning of a dungeon) have no effect on you (this being the advantage in the ghost ship).

How do I beat the sandworm boss? I've tried everything!!!
Ginkasa

When its mouth comes out of the sand, you'll a little tongue like thing sticking out and moving around. You have to hit it with your hookshot and then attack it with your sword.
Similar to Morpha in OoT only harder because you have to watch out for the those little sandworms as well as try to hit the tongue orb thing before it goes back under. Once you get it down though, its not that hard.

No, you're right. ;)
Ok, next question, where the h3LL are the eight pieces of the triforce? I look everywhere in the ocean but all I find are worthless rupees!

You'll need to find these little charts and get those deciphered by Tingle before you can find the Triforce pieces. It really helps if you've got a GBA and link cable.
You're knee-deep in the worst part the game.

Find this Tingle, where do I?
A GBA Cable, I am in need of.
Will it work with a GBA SP, I question.
Yeah, works with SP.
Tingle is in the North Western part of the map, on the same horizontal line as woodfall. He lives in this gay tower, you can't miss it.
And yeah, once I got to the triforce part, I've given up for a while. Until I finish exams I guess.

Link: I've been on the sea for weeks, maybe months now, my only company being a talking ship. I have lots of cool things but it doesn't make up for the lonliness I experience. Anyway, I hear you're kinda hurting for some rupees and well, to be honest I miss feeling love, so I was hoping maybe we could work something out.
Tinkle: What are you suggesting?
Link: How many rupees do I need to give you for eight long, exhausting hours in bed?
Tingle: Uh, well, I don't know. This is all kinda weird.
Link: How does 5 rupees sound?
Tingle: What are we waiting for? :D

That's kind of messed up, I really didn't need to read that. But there is one thing that doesn't make sense. Since most of us have claimed that Tingle is a homo, why would he say "Uh, well, I don't know. This is all kinda weird." Tingle is a very distrubing character...

Its not like you need a GBA and a link cable to find the treasure charts. Just get the treasure chart map if you dont allready (I forget where you get it), and use it to find the triforce charts. (they arent underwater, they are on the island in the square that shows the chart) Then once you have a chart or 2, get it deciphered by tingle for a hefty fee, then use the diciphered chart to find the triforce peice.

Actually, in an interview with Miyamoto in EGM two months ago (I think) he was asked if Tingle was gay. Miyamoto basically said that Tingle isn't gay, he's just a 35 year old man who thinks he is a fairy.
