Just thought I'd tell something that happend to me the other day. I"m on my gfs computer btw.

My computer was beinga lil sluggish so I decided to restart it. well half way through restarting it restarted itself and started screaming likea dying emu. Soon after as I was sitting watchin it restart and pungent smell of burning electronics reached my nostrils. Lo and behold my computer had smoke pouring out of it. I opened the side panel and a huge cloud of it came out. turns out my power source fried itself and is a big jumbled mass of burnt electronics. Just thought I'd tell you how great of a day I had, and if this had happend to anyone else before.

Well my old motherboard got fried once.............it didn't smoke as bad as yours but it i smelled that burning scent , and this lead to me getting a new computer. :D So all in all it wasn't that bad.

I think my old computer is on the verge of blowing up. It's been acting weird lately. So I hope it does so that I can get a better computer.:D

LOL! Sorry, My friends and I have had our share of burning electronics parts, but never heard or saw it be that bad. At least power suppies aren't that expensive. Unless of course it crapped some other parts too, that would suck.

Ok... the macs at your school are most likely equivalent to the 133 mhz pentium 1's i have at school.. since those suck that must mean all intel chips suck right? ;)... the macs at your school are prolly so old school thats why :p...

anyway.. yeah.. burning electronics sucks :(

What do you expect from computers at school? You think kids actually take care of things that belong to the school?

That's like saying, "Then can you come to my school and tell me why all the desks there ****ing suck?" You know, at home your desk is nice and everything but the one's at school have been carved in, written on, etc.

Actually, they weren't that great when they were NEW just two years ago, so don't give me that age crap. I mean...they aren't terrible, they just seem to freeze a lot and that's probably more of the cause of our idiotic computer guy, not the computers...but anyway, I'm not hating on Mac's...these school imac's just piss me off.

The proper way to have said that would have been:

I don't think this thread was meant for bragging.

And I wasn't bragging, I was just making a suggestive comment. :sneaky:

Ah, I've never seen a PC explode, but if this one gets much worse *shaks fist at alienware*, I may have to overclock EVERYTHING I can in it (After all the data is moved to a beter machine at least) as much as possible until it burns up in a balze of glory, which I will record onto a DV camcorder, and publish as streamin vide beofre I junk the POS. It's been anice three years but it may be time to let this thing die, I'll keep the monior and whatnot, but the PC itself is gonna die, not sure what form of "Death Sentance' i'll use, be it magnetism, orhigh-volag but I think overclocking and playing the most Graphics intensive gam for 20 mintues is a nice way to go out, sorrya bou your PC surfin4life, but I almost wish it'd happen to this machine at times, oh well, the PSU nearly did die in here but w found the problem.

Never seena PC wexplode msyelf but I kno people who have, I'm just unlucky as far as watching computers going up in smoke is concened, I'd like to see someone fr out a motherboard and salaveg the rest of the machine, but wih all the prolems Alienware as given me, the machine has yet to explode, strange because I was pretty sure it'd have happend by now, kinda like CamFu when he's curious about the gernade stockpile in Germany.

Speaking of Cam, he saeemsto like blwoin' stuff up, I wonde if he's destoryed a PC yet, maybe I'll "Donat" this one to him someday if he ever gets back to GT.

I suggest you wait for doomIII to come out, that way you'll let your pc go with glory and a hell of a lot of zombies :D

The iMac's at my school suck, but the PC's are worse.... in part b/c the school is stupid... the PC's were slow before when they had Windows 95 on them.... so some idiot said "I know... lets put windows 98 on and make them even slower"... heh, they can't even handle four browser windows open at the same time

LOL< well here's one:

My old neighboor knew a guy who was a Tech (Surprise!!) that would wear your stereotypical "White-Collar" Shirt with a Pocket over the lft side and a Pen "Clipped" onot it. He was working on a PC one day (This was back in the 386/486 Era) and had his pen dangling as usual, he also had his static fingerband and the like on him.

The guy went to instal his soundcard, remeber Motherbvoards were straight down in these days when his open feel, he saw a blue "spark" and well, thatwas the end f his new rig.

I can safely say I have a buddy who heard his HSF go out and he shut down ASAP, because he could hear ther problem he was able to avet a potential explosion, but it was stil a close-call, hwe replaced the HS and did some major maintence but it's all good now.

I might upgrade this machine after I build a new one, the first thing I'm thinking of is "Moving" it froma Steel case to an Aluminum one so it doesn't get so darn hot, then I'll go form there.
