Very good for the SP. The amount continues to be very good. I think Nintendo will release either the next GBA or another update to the GBA SP in a few years if sales like this continue, which almost undoubtedly will continue. Also, I would like to see if eventually the GBA takes over in sales over the SP. But its understandable since the SP costs more. And I know I shouldn't do this, but I just have this undeniable urge to do it. Check out the bolding I added.:D

PSX outsold Xbox...? Lol. I'm sorry, but I just had to laugh. But yeah... I'd expect something like this from GBA SP.

once again,
PS2 > Gamecube
I believe the Gamecube is now selling on Nintendo's name alone...if the system was made by a newcomer, it would have been dead already (IMO)

If it was selling only on Nintendo's name, why are they still selling around 10,000 a week? I'd be more likely to say that about MS and the XBox in Japan. But then again, it is Microsoft we are talking about, so they aren't gonna just give up.
Now Jonbo... lets not forget what you said in (this thread (http://www.gametavern.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5008)) when the chart was not favorable towards Nintendo:
"But I don't really care who's on top and whatnot because it just gets old after a while"
"I don't care too much about sales figures because it gets old already knowing who's on top. I buy games not based on sales, but based on Quality."
Charts are always fun to use though when they help your argument I suppose.

Yes, I did say that. That was when it was always PS2 on top. For this week at least, its a different top. So its not really old. Its new.:D
Who cares? All Nintendo products outsold all sony products for once. Sheesh.
And don't mack me with that "OMG CONSOLE" business. GAMES ARE GAMES, AND A LOT OF GAMES ON THE GBA USED TO BE CONSOLE. HECK, WITH THE GAME BOY PLAYER RELEASE, IT PRACTICALLY IS CONSOLE YOU CAN TAKE ON THE ROAD.

I think Nintendo should give up the console system (not pocket) next generation and start being a 3rd party developer.

Well, they never will, and stated numerous times that when they quit home consoles they quit everything, and they are far from quiting.

You mean just like PS2 was selling on brandname alone for the first half year of it's life??
PS2's line up couldn't match the Dreamcast's for more than a year. And it still sold like crazy... reason=brandname. So go figure...

of course PS2 sold on its brandname until GT3 came out...did I say it didn't? DVD playback helped too, though.

Care to explain why? Nintendo are still making insane amounts of profit, moreso than ever. You could say alot of that is down to the GBA, but you can't deny the amount of profit they are making from the GC. For starters, Nintendo are making a tidy profit on selling the GC alone, add to that the profit they make from their games, royalties from 3rd party games, memory cards, controllers, etc.
If Nintendo went third party, the only profit they would make from the home console business is from their own games. They'd probably have to pay royalties to either MS/Sony. And they just won't make as much profit as they are now.
Ofcourse, it would probabaly be better for the gamers if Nintendo did go second (or if all the third parties made games on a Nintendo system), but that's debatable.

Sega went 3rd party. Did it make their titles any better or more accesable?? NO.
'
Now you have to own all 3 consoles to get their games so it's in NO WAY an advatage for gamers.

I said it would be better for gamers if Nintendo went SECOND party (I didn't type party in my last post), so that all the Nintendo games would be on one system. But I also said that would be debatable, as Nintendo wouldn't have their own controllers and hardware to work on, and as you may know, most Nintendo games make brilliant use of the systems controllers.
Remember, I actually think it's better for Nintendo and the gamers if things stay this way. Nintendo also seems to be gaining a lot of support from 3rd parties, and this support is increasing over time, and that can only mean good things for Nintendo next generation.

The one thing everyone seems to forget.
IT DOESN'T MATTER that the GCN is in 3rd, 3rd and profitable is still profitable. The GBA is whipping ass too. Nintendo aint goin anywhere.
