This is an issue with today's society. Do you think that internet porn is corrupting our future? what are your feelings on it?
If it wasn't internet porn it would be something else. Each generation always thinks the other one is being corrupted.

My opinion? Being exposed to pornography is much better than being exposed to violence. I don't see why society sees nudity as such a problem when they allow games like GTA to be on the market and available to kids. Doesn't make sense to me. Although there is those rating labels, no one takes them seriously...
So yeah, I don't see porn as a problem in society.

I agree with Crono and Bond. If it wasn't porn, it would be something else. I don't see the big problem with porn.

I agree with you guys. I just hear politicians arguing about it all the time. I look at porn and it doesn't make me a pervert. It's not going to make me commit rape or molest anyone. Society thinks that anything that may be somewhat gross thinks that what our future will be like.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that when one problem is proved not to be the problem something else is?
I mean Television was a problem, movies was a problem, videogames, porn, magazine, music lyrics, it's like everything is a bad, but let if you try and contain it, the problem still exists.

As long as it isnt corruption of porn through video games, I think its ok.
If it wasn't for porn you would see a lot more rape scandals.

They say looking at a lot of porn may cause you to rape people later. I doubt it....but...some say that.

Yah, a classic anti-pr0n argument.
Which came first - the hard on or the jazz mag? Porn is there to satisfy a need, nothing more, nothing less. People who rape and stalk are socially imbalanced in the first place, and are drawn to pr0n/whatever due to this. Censorship lobbies tend to look at it the other way around of course. Rape has existed since well before pronography was even conceived, and banning it all ain't gonna make a jot of difference.
Just for the record, I couldn't give a rats arse about pr0n, it bores me to tears.

I think exposing a child to porn can hurt them mentally more than exposing them to violence. Exposing a small child to natural sexual behavior (or a "love" scene) isn't as bad.
I mean, I'd rather my child know that if a guy has a gun don't f**k with him, then him knowing if you lick a girl the right way she'll love you for it.
That's just how I see it

What's this about? Porn existing in general or children's exposure to porn?

some say if it weren't for all the porn that exists online, the net would be a safer place.
what kind of porn are we talking about anyways...tame stuff or hardcore or even stuff like hentai???

I don't see porn as a problem in society, as long as the people in the porn are 18+. Anything younger is just wrong.

It's Japanese anime porn. And because it's just a drawing instead of a real girl, it can depict all kinds of situations that might be
1. Sadistic
2. Involve underage girls
3. Just plain cruel
4. Unrealistic
5. Some combination of the above
But really, if you want to know about hentai, just look it up. You have to pay for it on the internet, but most hentai sites will give a tour or a sample just like regular porn sites.
As for the topic at hand, I don't mind internet porn. I don't look at it (except accidentally), but if you're old enough to see it, well then it's just filling demand. I really wish pornographers would stop spamming my mailbox, though.

Well, I figured that since you used hardcore and hentai in the same sentence, that it would be something that I did not want to look at.
And people actually get off to cartoon pornography?!?!?!!? That is disgusting.
It's the thought that counts.

Like, a Playboy Bunny?

By the way modeling can pay up to 4,700 Yen per hour (US$39) which is quite alot, I however have better morals and im only 16. I might consiter it at an older age though, if I still look good enough to do it.

Porn is for lowlives.
Anyway, nude modeling, porn, strip clubs, the WWE divas are all the same to me. They show themselves off for money. It's amazing how money is responsible for so many evil, stupid, or ridiculous things.

heh... I first "discovered"* internet porn the summer before i entered 7th grade.... I DL'd quite a bit (quite a bit considering the technology availible to me at the time... about 3 Floppy disks worth using a 33.3 modem) Guess it was kind of a good thing.... I pretty much got bored of porno quite a while before the P2P networks and Cable modems made it so easy to get.... I know a few people who are totally obsessed with porn and it's really sad... instead of pursuing real relationships with people, they surf KaZaA for more and more porn.
* it's ironic how i found out porn could be found on the internet.... it was a newspaper editorial criticizing the availibility of porn on the net.... I read it and thought "wow...cool... there is porn on the internet"
btw, I am 18.m and can honestly say i don't have any porn on my computer

My name is Gimpy, and i'm a pornoholic
lol, not really...but i really don't see the problem with it. Some ppl regard it as disgusting and sinful, my advice? don't watch it then, but if your the majority of the male (and sometimes female) population :hump:

OK, to be honest, I actually dont' see a problemw ith INternet porn anymore, it's not going anywhere if my INbox is any indication (Damn SPAMMERS!!!) and as far as I can tell, some kid is gonna seeit smeday anyway, it's not a bad thing, unless it's doen in adisatsteful manner.
I actuyally like Japans laws regarding porn, because they treat nudiy, like nudity and not like some ofrbidden subject, and if aI was given a choice of leting my kids either watcha movie wher you see a guys head fall off and land in a pool of oozing blood, ora porno flick, I'd choose the porno flick.
The reasoN? Porn is a general expression of sex in a bad way (Damn Cnensors) while violance just breeds violance, if I had ot teach my kids about Porn or violance, I'd choose porn, chances are it wouldn't kill anyone unelss they were already a messed up rapist who should eb behind abrs anyway.
As far as the stupid censors go, I fel that porn should be fully uncensored and ther should be an age limit (13?) but the current klimits are the "Ear Shields' form the d@mn censors who butcher everything, porn islame but if you need to get your kicks off of cheap cr@p, go for it, I remerb someone bitching about Video games being a bad thing, adn Rock and Roll, and TV, and just about everything that's come into excistance, I'm not saying tod ownload 4 Gigs of porn, I'm just saging I don't realy think it's as bad as people amkle it out to be and hey, your gonna see it someday, might as well see it any day and get it over with, my point is, it's dirty, yes but so is the language people use these days, and I don't give a d@mn about four-kleter words either, I mean, geez why is our society which claims ot eb "Enlightned' more "Cenbsored" than a commie dictatorship at times?
I'll answer this one, because we're using ear-shields thanks to the "God Christians' who llike dropping nukes on people, y'know what, if it was violance or opnr,I take porn, end of story.
Edit: added for a friend of mine who doens't have a GT Membership:

I generally don't look at porn. I read lemons and I like erotic pictures, but that's it. It's still nothing I'd want my kids to see until they were mature enough to know the fact and understand what was going on.
I don't see the harm in all of it if participants are willing. But if they're unwilling, underage, or children.... Gods help those webmasters if I ever find them.

OK my buddya dn I basically agree except if I look at porn it's once ina blue moon and as I said not Kids, but teenagers would eb acceptable n my opinion, as far as children go, that's ano, not unless they were either extremely intellgient and had about 5 peopoesign a cnsent form with them, and as for unwilling poeple, that shoudl remain illegal.

If it isn't internet porn, it will be their father's Playboys, and if isn't Playboy, it will be Victoria's Secret catalogue, and if it isn't Victoria's Secret it will be the Sears catalogue and if it isn't the Sears catalogue it will be National Geographic.
Porn is alaways going to exist because we have lebido's. Making it illegal is simply attempting to legislate morality, which has never worked.
Porn is a lot like drugs in one way: You can't protect your kids from it. But you can educate them about it, but hey, that actually takes effort and create a possibly uncomfortable situation. It amazes me the lengths that parents will go to avoid talking to their kids about sensitive issues.
