That's right. It's that time again. So let's hear your pathetic opinions ;)

First let me start off by saying I prefer playing one or two games that completely amazes me, rather than playing 5 or 6 games that I get enjoyment out and I consider Good to Excellent. Which is probably why after playing Metroid and Mario Sunshine, I like my GC better than my PS2.

1) Nintendo (EA or woteva they are) :- I've always been a Nintendo fan. I just prefer Mario/Zelda games over most others. They seem to fill the void with my gaming. Especially nowadays (or so I'm hoping with Zelda). But Mario Sunshine was a great start!

2) Squaresoft:- FF/Chrono Trigger series/The bouncer!! (j/k) I love Rpg's and the best developer for Rpg's is Squaresoft (IMO)

3) SNK:- I love SNK fighting games........especially KOF. I've been playing games like KOF and Samuri Showdown for ages.

4) Capcom:- I don't like the Capcom adventure/action type games (e.g. Onimusha, DMC) but I do like their fighting games. So they get my number 4

5) Retro Studios:- Maybe it's a bit too soon to put them on my list, but Metroid has done what Nintendo normally does. Fill the void with empty gaming. So just from one game (yes one game), they nab the final spot.

Developers that missed the list

*Silicon Knights - They have only one game (ED) but it was very different, and I loved the way the story was mixed with the gameplay. A unique gaming experience, but I still wanna see what their follow up games are gonna be like

*Konami - I loved MGS, but was disappointed with MGS2. I know it's hard to make sequels when you have to improve on the previous games, but MGS2 was one of those sequels that didn't win me over
*Rare - No games have been recently made by Rare (Except for SFA) which I didn't like very much. Still waiting for a new Perfect Dark type game for Xbox, and hopefully Killer Instinct!
*Namco - There's been many great games for Namco, Tekken 4, SC2, Xenosaga (which i'm yet to play so I dunno if it's great). But Tekken 4 and SC2 haven't really interested me much on the arcades. I've played both (especially T4). I'll probably get the GC version of SC2 due to Link.
* Camelot - Where the hell is Mario Tennis for GC?!?!? I loved the N64 version, and think that it plays much better (and more accurately) than the Virtua Tennis game).

1. Nintendo - They always (98% of the time) provide great games that I get satisfaction from them.
2. Sega - Ever since going 3rd Party, I've grown a new love for them.
3. Factor 5 - Rouge Squadron II was great along with the previous one on the '64, so they have potential with whatever they are doing to really push the graphical power of the 'Cube
4. Capcom - I guess RE because I've grown a new love since the announcement of the RExclusives and actually playing them.
5. Rare - The old days of the '64 is the reason they hit #5. Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Conker...All good games that I hope (PD and Conker :p) will be used wisely on the big'un.

1. As over rated as they are, I have to say Squaresoft. FFIX, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Kingdom Hearts, Seiken Densetsu. They are great RPG makers
2. Konami- 3 sole reasons- Suikoden and Castlevania and Silent Hill
3. Capcom- Resident Evil (I love these games), and I enjoyred Breath of Fire IV. Onimusha was fun as hell.
4. Nintendo- (as a whole with all of their second party)- Greats games, in my opinion. Zelda, Metroid, Animal Crossing.. :D
5. I'll propbably fill this out later

Spike - Fire Pro Wrestling. They bought the franchise from Human and then were smart enough not to mess with a great thing.

AKI - Ok, I know the origial team doesn't really exist anymore, but they made a series of wrestling games that will NEVER be duplicated.

Capcom - The lord of the 2D fighting game

Nintendo - 20 years of amazing quality? That gets a top 5 vote.

Microsoft - STICK THAT IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT! But seriously, they've made a LOT of great games on PC and now on the XBox

This is just a current list (one year's time) not an all time list.

1. Electrinic Arts: Did you really expect me to say anything else?

2. Sega's teams: Yeah yeah yeah, thier marketing is stupid as hell, but I still own a few of thier games and play them regularly.

3. Rockstar: GTA3 and VC aren't the reason I purchsed my Ps2, but I'm pretty sure it will be the reason I get my Ps3.

4. Bungie: I know, only one game, but the best FPS I have ever played, and up there with VC as the best game I have played this generation.

5. Nintendo: I can't leave them off of the list, even though thier last few efforts haven't been up to par with what I come to expect from them, they still are better than any other developer I can think of currently.

-EDIT-

Oh, and I have to say I'm impressed with Konami, Nacmo, and SCEA.

1. Squaresoft - Well.. I'm mostly into RPGs, so, this is pretty easy.
2. Enix - They've developed and published just as many good RPGs as Squaresoft.
3. Capcom - Resident Evil, Breath Of Fire.
4. Konami - Suikoden, MGS, Silent Hill, Castlevania. I think that's enough said.
5. Nintendo - I've been disappointed with their games lately, but they're still one of the best (Zelda, etc.).

BTW... post this in The Dungeon next time.

NINTENDO-You cant beat the best. And Nintendo is the best.
SEGA-Always loved sega ever since I first felt the joy of playing Sonic on the Genesis. And while the Dreamcast was a failure, it wasnt due to poorly made games by Sega. They continued to pump out amazing games. And they rule the Arcade biz.
RAREWARE-While im dissapointed they arent developing for the Cube anymore, thats no reason the believe their games will suddenly lose quality. They can always push a system to its limits
LUCASARTS-While they havent put anything out there recently that has impressed, I think back to games like the Monkey Island seires, Grim Fandango, and some of their excellent Star Wars titles, and I cant help but love them.
RETRO STUDIOS-They may be new, but PRIME shows me that they know what they are doing. And they are American, which is always a good thing.

SCE - Gran Turismo 3, Hot Shots Golf 3, SOCOM, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Twisted Metal: Black, Amplitude, and an amazing upcoming schedule
Konami - Metal Gear Solid, baby. WE6 is also the best soccer game ever made, and ZOE2 is a crapload of fun. Not to mention they make some of the prettiest graphics...
Electronic Arts - Battlefield 1942 and Madden 2003 are my top 2 games of 2002. EA BIG rules, too.
Rareware - It all started with Donkey Kong Country, followed by 2 more DKC games and GOLDENEYE 007. Oh, and that little game called Perfect Dark was no slouch either.
Nintendo - Since this is my ALL TIME list, Nintendo has to be on it. They've declined BIG time over the past few years, but the Super Mario Bros. series was my favourite as a child...Super Mario Kart and OOT were also classic.

1) Blizzard - NEVER made a bad game, can't say this about anyone else they take the top spot by default.
2) Sega - If just saying "sega" is cheating, count this as smilebit
3) Nintendo - Again, I'm not going to say retro, or ead or any of the other devs, just the big boy.
4) Konami - Castlevania, Conta. Oh sure, there's more, but what more do you need?
5) Southend Interactive - They gave me deathrow, and I love them for it.

1) Nintendo (EAD) - dont tell me your surprised!
2) Sega - Though some of their recent games seemed a little sloppy they are still pretty inventive and willing to take some risk.
3) Capcom - RE0 and remake were good and their multi-console offering's look to be good as well.
4) Nintendo (Retro) - even though they have only made one game and are a Nintendo 1st party now, they still get their own place for a job well done.
5) Silicon Knights - Their work is surprisingly detailed and I appreciate the effort, as well as excelent story.
